Buy from USA but live in UK

I'm tempted to get a 2080ti from the states as my sister lives there and comes back to the uk quite often. With the exchange rate i would save a few hundred pounds. But.... what about RMA? Would i need to return to the US. Has any one had any experience with purchasing components from the US and having issues?

That would involve the item being declared at customs.

you are allowed a certain value. The wife spent £1500 on hand bags last time we went to vegas. Would have been triple that over here

When I went to the US, I bought a 1080ti for £570, when it would've cost over £700 here in good old blighty.

remember a long time ago, my mother use to travel a lot to vegas for book signing for family business. would get a 2/3 flgahship cards cheap due to Sterling being so high against the dollar. would place the inside box in a lower budget card box - second hand pawn shop etc with reciept for like $30 for a $400 card or along those lines. never did get pulled up but could make some nice pocket money now and again
