Hi,

I have only noticed in the last month or so sometimes my screen goes black for about a second or two. I have a RX580 Nitro+.

I have tried reinstalling windows, fresh drivers, HDMI or DP cables etc but still does it randomly. Mostly does it if playing games but have noticed it doing on Youtube videos etc too.

I google'd it and noticed it seems to be a known issue.

Does anyone have any advise or information on this? The card is only about 6 month old.

Cheers

Hi,

For some reason, the driver forces the card to stop sending the proper signal to your screen. Might be a bug, might be something with Windows....

You are with i5-4670? I am not sure but it may be your platform, its general performance, etc...

Hmm, meaning the CPU can't handle the GPU? I thought the CPU was a good gaming one still.

And if its a known issue from AMD why don't they release a fix for it :(

I have had the same problems, I found installing old driver fixred the problem. The last 2 drivers from amd and known to have problems

Which driver/catalyst version are you using? I can try installing that one and see if problem persists. Done it 4 times during a game of COD Zombies :(

it looks like my system as decided to install the 18.12.1.1 **Optional how ever...
I downloaded the mid September stable drivers, When i opened Battlefield, and when the boy run fortnight the system gave me a warming about the current AMD driver been unstable, and advised me to install an older driver.

The need the Run DDU from safe mode and block windows from installing updates(disconnect from the internet, or use command prompt), then install the drivers.

Cheers m8, I fresh installed the 18.12.1.1 and will test, if it fails I will go mid sept update and test again.

Appreciate the help :)

Ran a game of zombies on 18.12.1.1 and it black screened twice (also kicked me to desktop too). I have also noticed that the game feels a lot more choppy and goes to 40FPS. These are the same settings I used when the game first came out and it ran flawless.

I will try the September update.

UPDATE: I installed the 18.9.3 driver and so far it hasn't black screened, but the choppyness and FPS drop is still there.

This is going to sound strange, but since changes drivers etc never worked I decided to unplug the HDMI cable from the back of the monitor (even though it wasn't connected to anything on the other end). PC uses display port.

Since then I have not had any black screen or chopping issues in games.

If this was the case, any idea why? Is there a setting I need to change or something.
