Is there a motherboard with these specific requirements?

Im guessing it shouldn't be too hard to find seeing as its a pretty basic list of things that i need but here it goes.

-For a Ryzen processor/build

-Preferably can handle 3000mhz ram speed, or at least upto/close to that, with 4 slots

-2 gigabit lan port or higher (current only 100mb internet, getting 110 at times, and thinking to upgrade soon to 250mb from virgin media)

-Not really looking to overclock or anything like that

-2 graphics card slots

-at least 5-6 slots for ssd's/hdd's

I think he is referring to the error of GB instead of MB.

My mistake

Yeh most of not all lan ports are 1 Gigabit.
Yiu connection will be ~250 megabit . Big difference :D

Are there any motherboard with a Yiu connection?

Also if most lan ports are 1gigabit is there any other way that I can get a superfast connection or do i need to rely on wifi? And if thats the case, what motherboard options are there that have wifi built in

I don't understand .
Gigabit lan is capable of faster speeds than any consumer Internet connection can provide, and certainly faster and more reliable than Wi-Fi.

I have no idea what a Yiu connection is?
Sorry that was my typo! I meant to say 'your' :)

Every B450 and X470 motherboard has what you want, you wont get the speeds VM provide through WiFi though, you'll have to hard wire to the router.

Trouble with VM is although they advertise those speeds, they throttle everyone in the evening, the only bundle they dont throttle you on and give you a bit more upload speed is the gaming bundle and you pay twice the price for that, I was on 300mb for a while and told them it was pointless as whenever I wanted to really use it I was being throttled, so had it knocked down to 200.

chices are 50, 100, 200 or 350meg.

If you really want one with built in WiFi still then something like this will suit your needs perfectly fine: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ocket-am4-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-33s-ms.html

The wifi speed used to be even worse for me back on the superhub 1, but after phoning them up and complaining they sent over the superhub 3 for free and in all honesty, it does get much better speeds than before. However it is still nowhere near the speeds you get through a direct ethernet connection. Also, I do seem to get the max speed I pay for, however that is ONLY through ethernet.

The problem is that with a 1 gigabit lan/ethernet port, the highest speed you'll ever get is around 125mb,which is great but whats the point paying for 200mb if you cant get that?

But either way, it looks like ill go for the B450 seeing as im not too much into overclocking and not planning on hardcore gaming on this, so it should do me just fine

Well virgin seem happy to sell you incredible max speeds, but they will soon choke you if you use it a lot, so it's a bit of a false economy. That said 250mb is really huge bandwidth . Do you really need it? A 50 mb unlimited connection is arguably a lot better.

well i wouldnt need it if i got 50 consistently even through wifi, but thats never the case. In which case im going for the "faster means more chance ill get faster wifi"

1 gigaBIT is not the same as 1 gigaBYTE

1 megabyte = 8 megabits

1000 megabits (1 gigabit) is the same as 125 megaBYTES. And thats what im getting atm

No you're confusing bits and bytes.. But it's not really relevant in the context of you're initial question..
A board with a standard Gigabit lan port is plenty!

How fast your WiFi is will be Purley dependent on how good your router is and how good the WiFi on the device is. And it won't be as good as a lan/ethertnet connection to the router.

Virgin Super Hub isn’t a great router, you may want to consider getting a better router for stronger WiFi connections. Look for something with 802.11ax for the best speeds and you may need a dedicated WiFi card rather than use onboard WiFi.

what am i getting confused about?

In all fairness, virgin for their ethernet connection is really good, it rarely faulters. And ive noticed in my house that the new hub is decent for wifi as im getting upto 20-30 times the wifi speed downstairs that i used to get with the old hub

He doesn’t appear to be confused to me. I agree with his conversions of bits and bytes.

The virgin speeds they quote are megabits, not megabytes.

I have a Superfibre 70Mbps virgin connection and i average around 9MBps downloads.

I also dont have any throttling on my line and according to their latest "Broadband traffic management policy" page, there is no throttling done on any of their unlimited tiers.

https://help.virginmedia.com/system...gin-Media-Broadband-traffic-management-policy

This is not to say that you will always get your full download speed in your area though, i used to suffer from contention here before they upgraded the local network.

Yeah ofc, you'll only get about 10% download speed of the speed they quote, which for example if you get 100mb internet, you'll get at best at about 10mb (usually a bit hoger than 10% as I get about 12mb peak download speed) but does that mean that I can get upto 125mb DOWNLOAD speed using a gigabit lan connection? If thats the case then im perfectly fine

Is there any reason why you need dual Gigabit LAN ports? Does it require teaming support?

Bare in mind both local connections and internet speeds are advertised as bit, so a single gigabit port will still be more than faster than Virgin's fastest package. In your case, Virgin's 250mb package is still 4 times slower than gigabit LAN. The only time you will require faster LAN to keep up with internet speeds is if you have a FTTP 1 gb/s+ service.

You're getting mixed up with Virgin's service as megabyte. You're getting 110mb on a 100mb service because Virgin boosted it slightly so they can still advertise it as 100mb due to advertising rules. It's still no where near saturating a gigabit port.
