Spec a phone upgrade from Motorola G3

Bought the Mrs her first smart phone a couple of years ago and she's really got to grips with it and uses it well. It's running out of space now (despite a memory card) and the battery life has become quite poor.

I'd like to get her an upgrade for Christmas (SIM free) but not sure what to go for.

Budget is £250 Max, decent camera, storage and a bonus of NFC would be nice. Android only as well. Also nothing really big in size. Any recommendations?

A couple that have caught my eye:
- Motorola G6 Plus (how big is this?)
- HuawHu P20 Lite

Potential. Not seen or looked at the Nokia phones since their re-launch. Any good? Close to stock Android?

I've got an 8 and have been very impressed with (essentially the first "high-end" phone i've ever had) - it gets monthly security updates, and will be getting the latest android (pie) soon, as is essentially stock android.

8 is now a year old, so probably worth looking at the 6.1, or 7.1 but depends on size.

The 8 should have the best camera because it was a much higher end phone at the start of it's life even though it's cheaper now.
