My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £908.63 (includes shipping: £14.70)

This is the build ive gone for, Im not sure this is the best value for money build I could have got for the price (Around £900)

I dont need a hard drive(s) as I already have several, SATA ssd's and hdd's. The motherboard I think is future proof enough where I hope i can add in more RAM and upgrade processor in the future (ryzen 3000 series and even 4000 series in 2020 i hope)

the psu of 650w I think should be more than enough to handle everything, especially since i bought an X processor and dont plan on overclocking it further.

The main issue I have is the graphics card, im not sure ill be able to get a better one for the budget I have left unless i compromised elsewhere, but i dont plan on heavily gaming on this machine anyway, just the occasional odd game here and there and nothing too serious.

This is the general build I plan on going for, Im just waiting for news on the new Ryzen chips before I go ahead with this as thats the only part im probably going to changing atm

Also if any of you can make sure this is all compatible (which im 99% sure it is) tat would be greatly appreciated!

It is excellent. The only thing that you need to add is a cooler for the Ryzen CPU:

isnt a 144hz monitor better than the 75hz you suggested? it'll feel so much smoother

also whats the difference in motherboard between the Elite and the Pro?

Is the extra 100w necessary for the psu?

And is it worth getting the regular 2600 over the 2600X? im not sure if ill get into the whole OC'ing thing

Thanks!

Doesnt the 2600X already come with a really good stock cooler? I thought it was perhaps the non-X variants that'll need a cooler as they come with a weaker cooler

Well, yes, the AMD Wraith Spire CPU cooler will be sufficient, but the tower coolers are always better.

That makes sense, can I use them both at once? or if i get the 3rd party one will i need to remove the spire one

Only one at a time. Either the box cooler, or the other one.
Unfortunately, there is no physical way to attach both of them to work as one on the same CPU.

Well thats a shame, for the time being ill stick with the spire one, but if i sense its overheating quite a bit then ill go for the aftermarket one!

how do you think the 570 graphics card would handle for someone who isnt planning on gaming too much? I just want something that'll handle all the average stuff well like watching videos/movies in 4k and handle a 1920 144hz monitor. I will occasionally play a couple of small games here and there, but nothing too intensive so i dont think its worth spending too much on a good graphics card when I wont be using it to its full capabilities. Even if i wanted to, im sure i can upgrade and get a new graphics card in the future and the B450 should be able to handle it

The RX 570 is a very good graphics card which will push all but some handful of game titles to the hundreds of frames per second. For occasional gaming, it is too good.
Only the hardcore and enthusiast gamers buy anything faster than the RX 570, and then they spend thousands of pounds :D

Well thats perfect then, im sticking with the 570! Nice knowing that if i had the choice, i can play games

.....

Use Google and see some benchmarks 1080p 60hz is what a Rx 570 is meant for .

Play cs:go and you'll hit 100+ FPS, play PUBG and you'll be around 30-40 much like BFV etc

There's a vast difference in power between Rx and Vega chips

Is a difference between 75hz and 144hz, specially when your driving over 100hz, on a RX 570, not going to do that with over half the games, not if they are AAA titles .
1080p Vs 1440p you'll have a nice jump in pixel count, Vega 56 is a good 1440p 60hz card or 1080p 144hz card

Only on a 4K monitor - you can adjust the resolution. I am gaming on my 3840x2160 LG monitor and RX 560X, CS Source at 1920x1080, the game looks outstanding.

Any need to go above the 650w PSU?
No need to burn money off as heat.

Not sure atm,I think 650 is fine but for just £3 extra is it not better to just gor for 750w? Also its a bit more future proof if i decide to upgrade parts

Ahh I see, I might need to do a bit more research onto the graphics card. I know there's a big difference in performance between vega and RX but I really wont be gaming too much on this. But i feel like i will play a couple games of PUBG so ill have to reconsider, just not sure if its worth the extra £200 on something I wont even use too often
