Hi guys just been trying to identify this lovely issue on another thread https://streamable.com/g23ku and seems my 6970 is basically dead I bought that card 7 years ago with my build and I’m very much out of the loop with current cards. I don’t do too much PC gaming these days but would like the opertunity too should I want to boot upper overwatch or something! Is there anything that would be around the specs of the 6970 that I could throw into my PC? I really don’t want to spend more that £100 at the moment as didn’t see myself having to buy a card right now! Any help would be fantastic. Needs a couple of slots for dual monitor setup :)

£100 is a difficult one - given how poor the graphics card market has been (due to cryptomining and no high end competition from AMD), you will struggle to get anything new that offers much of an improvement over your 6970.
For £120 you can get a Geforce 1050 2gb, but given the large discounts on AMD Cards at the moment the 4GB RX570 for £149.99 or an 8GB model for £158.99 are much better options.

Don't be tempted to look at actual "budget" cards such as the GT1030 or RX550, as although they are <£100, they perform substantially worse than your current 6970 (despite it's age).
Some idea of how old vs new cards stack up can be found here: http://www.logicalincrements.com/articles/graphicscardcomparison

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £439.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Thank you so much!! I'm so out of touch with card prices haha! The only time I purchased mine was with the whole PC so can't actually remember the individual cost of the card. I wouldn't want to have something performing much worse than the current card as you mentioned!!

Silly question my current specs are -

Power Supply Corsair 750W TX V2
Processor Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz Highly Overclockable
Processor Cooler Stock Manufacturer Heatsink and fan
RAM 8GB Corsair DDR3 XMS3 1600MHz/PC12800
Motherboard ASUS P8P67 REV3.0

Would these be fine for something like the RX570 for example?
