Hey guys as the title says i'm seeing half the usual clocks in-game my core clocks are 1000-800 tend to drop to the latter and stay there i'm getting 60-90 FPS on min latency setting at 1440p works fine on every other game so really lost as to what it might be! no settings have been changed in my drivers done a clean install multiple times

My specs:
GPU: Sapphire vega 64 nitro+
CPU: Ryzen 2600
Mobo: Msi b450 gaming pro carbon
Ram:16 Gig trident z 3200 mhz
PSU: EVGA 750W supernova G2+

Few pics for you guys might give you a better clue 1st one is in menu screen running fine 2nd is in game starts tanking and the 3rd is of elysium in-game running fine

EDIT: sorry guys failing with the embed so heres a link to my post on amd forums with pics

Create custom profile for that game. Set the Minimum speed as the maximum speed also.

Nice one for the suggestions guys doesn't seem to have taken effect tho it's not even recording performance so gonna do a fresh install of BF5 and report back.

sounds like the profile isnt enabled, try right clicking it and selecting enable before the reinstall, else you may end up wasting a bunch of time. :)

Tried both no luck with either also downloaded the new drivers that apparently fixes the clocks getting stuck at 800 mhz and that didn't even work done a quick video to show you guys whats actually happening.

The 2nd screenshot shows 98% CPU utilisation so I would say in that instance you were experiencing a CPU bottleneck.

I would set up better monitoring so you can get a better idea what is happening in real-time during the game e.g.:

- hwinfo64 and RTSS (Rivatuner Statistics Server to display the hwinfo stats in game).
or
- MSI Afterburner (set up the monitoring and OSD parts - MSI afterburner also comes with RTSS). Tip: in MSI afterburner you can also set the alarm range max to 90% for each CPU thread so the OSD changes to Red colour makes it easier to spot when a CPU thread is high. Note: open up MSI afterbruenr after you have launcher Battlefield, there is a BattleEye bug where BattleEye will sometimes close MSI afterburner if it's running before the game is launched.

Make sure to enable monitoring of each CPU core/thread instead of total CPU. The radeon CPU util shows total CPU usage which doesnt always give a true picture what is going on for example some games only use a single CPU core/thread and you can still experience a CPU bottleneck because one CPU core/thread is maxed out but total CPU usage would show low CPU usage (e.g. 8% for a 12 thread CPU).

Run some CPU benchmark tests e.g. cinebench, to make sure the CPU performance is running as expected. Also check the CPU temperatures and CPU frequency for each cores when you experience the issue to make sure the CPU is not throttling.

Run some RAM benchmarks and stability tests (e.g. HCI memtest / memtest86) to make sure you are not getting any memory errors as that can have an impact on perofrmance. Ryzen 2600 officially supports RAM speed of 2933 so you are technically overclocking the CPU IMC running the RAM at 3200 and it might not be as stable as you think. You could also test using Bios default settings to rule out any issues with your Bios configuration or overclock settings.

Battlefield 64 player multiplayer map can be quite CPU intensive at times. I would try a server with frewer users or the single player mode. Also run some other GPU intensive benchmarks to make sure the GPU performance is as expected e.g. Unigine Superposition (1080p Extreme), 3Dmark Firestrike Extreme etc.

I would also recommend to connect 2 separate power supply cables to the Vega 64 instead of a single cable if you haven't already done so.

There is also a console command in Battlefield games which show graph for CPU and GPU render times "perfoverlay.drawgraph 1". I dont have BFV but this command works in BF1. Basically the higher the line/graph will indicate which device was taking the longest to render the frame and might give you a clue if it's a CPU or GPU issue.

Will try these suggestions tomorow man nice one but I genuienly think it's a isolated issue with BF5 and with the PCIE i definitely have to 2 PCIE's in man

in the video everything is set correct, so looks like os4321 is spot on, you cpu is around 60% in the video. you could give 'VSR' a go and enabling a higher resolution, this should take some strain of the cpu and put it on the gpu, which should force higher clocks.

Yeah tbh i think thats more to do with how many tabs i've got open including OBS and firefox

Cinebench score 1248
memtest tested 99% of my ram using all cores at 100% till 300% had 0 errors
superstition score is 4348n (but apparently my ram is running at 3400 mhz not 3200?)

Cinebench and Superposition scores look fine. They are similar to overclock3d.net results Cinebench 1249 and Superposition 4385.

If BF5 is the only game you have the issue I think it suggests BF5 is CPU intensive on 64 player maps and you are most likely experiencing a bottleneck elsewhere in the system (probably CPU).

Because your graphics settings are turned down to low and you are bottleneck elsewhere means there is not much graphics work for the GPU to do which explains the low usage. It probably means you have headroom to turn up the graphics settings to ultra and probably will see the same FPS.

You could test single player mode or a server with fewer players will probably be less CPU intensive.

How many RAM sticks do you have and which slots are they plugged into the motherboard. Single channel vs Dual channel can also have an impact on CPU performance, if you have 2 sticks of RAM check your motherboard manual to make sure they are plugged into the recommended slots on the motherboard for dual channel, you can also check they are running in dual channel using CPU-Z tool.

I also reminder to check CPU frequency per core/thread and temperatures when you experience the issue to make sure the CPU is not overheating/throttling.

ah yea that makes sense then, hmm min/max on p7 normally fixes the issue. might be worth trying to turn on chill in the global settings, then go to the profile. set chill min and max to something high like say 200 or as high as it will go, see how you get on with that. the framerate limiter will enable itself when you turn on chill, just urn it off again.
