So my current rig is starting to show it's age. I've kept it going with graphics card, RAM, and SSD upgrades but I'm starting to find the CPU isn't up to it and I can't play modern games as I just don't have the processing power.
Existing system is an AMD Phenom X2 clocked at 3.5GHz, 6GB DDR2 RAM, Nvidia GTX 950 graphics card. I've got a case which is fine (although 15 years old) and a 600w modular PSU that I've had for maybe 8 years, no problems with it though. I realise that this is all ancient tech by OCUK standards, but honestly, with an SSD I've had a nippy system that can handle WoW and CIV etc along with some light audio editing and obviously browsing etc.
With a £300-350 budget, what motherboard, cpu, RAM combination would be best? Something a bit future proof on the motherboard would be good, and my current graphics card is ok as I only game at 1680x1050 and would maybe go up to 1920x1080 in the next year or so - but I can change the card then.
I will splurge the extra on a PSU if necessary.
Cheers
