Today is my last day before xmas leave - this week has been work work work - I have so much planned for when I get back.

I mean we had santas little helpers doing a daily event and yesterday had a department fancy dress but today its all back to work (finance industry) and I think more of the same for xmas eve

My first UK job back in 2004 working in a clinical systems helpdesk we all played network tron on xmas eve - little work was achieved

Yes I know work is to work but want to know if other companies out there are more chill?

Busy. Reduced volume of work overall but because lots of people are on leave using up holiday and throwing sickies this of us that remain are super busy.

Work "noise" is definitely reduced but I have so much work to do. It's a good chance to get some of it done.

Most of the staff at the office I work at have mentally checked out. I've been getting some network maintenance in and I'll be doing the same on Monday but other than that - very little is getting done

Very quiet, work at an engineering firm & we tend to wind down the last week as orders won't be delivered to customers in time, finished yesterday at 1 as the boss lets us go early at crimbo, not due back at work till Jan 2nd.

I work for the NHS in orthopaedic physiotherapy.
This is busiest time of year for us. Multitudes of broken hips, lower limb fractures etc. Old folks falling, young people falling out of lofts, off ladders etc.

Busy. A change freeze is in place which helps. But end of year is always the deadline for a lot of audit and compliance work.

Today, in the Containment Boutique, we have just got rid of our last 2 "service users".

Tonight, as it's the last night of work for a lot of people before Christmas, it's going to be a busy one.

I suspect we'll be pretty much full when I come in tomorrow morning.

Very chill - Xmas decorations up, TV that is usually streaming world news is streaming Xmas videos, lots of comments to the effect of "we'll get on that in the New Year". Also spent a morning doing Secret Santas.

And although i put in some holiday for today, i know others are in for 0830 and out at anywhere between 1030 and lunch!

Undergrads all disappeared last week - so this week has been quite relaxed with some marking and writing up a paper (when the students leave, academics can finally get some research done!).

Busy. The place is closed for one day and people go mad. You can watch people on the cameras actually banging on the doors trying to get in on Christmas day! :D

Chaos as usual at Xmas, contractors all wanting vast amounts of information and drawings that will sit in someone’s inbox until January 3rd. I’m off till the 7th now though so....

Just as busy, if not more so, than normal.

You can't beat* working in a 24/7 public service.

*you can.

Been off this week, but our office closed today for Christmas shutdown. Loaded my laptop up earlier about half 2 and noticed everyone who should have been working had already clocked off. Looks to have been reasonably busy this week, this is in software development.
