new build for my son

does it look alright
can do better :)

compared to your original spec, below is:
1) mini itx build
2) better motherboard
3) swapped the ssd to a standard sata 3 ssd - cheaper, performance difference isn't that much noticeable outside of benchmarks for day to day usage (unless doing tasks like same-drive copying or video editing)
Also the sammy 860 is just about the best sata3 ssd there is...
4) cheaper psu, just as good, also don't need a 750w psu. 600w is sufficient
5) with all that savings, you can get a massively better GPU - vega 56 is 1.5x the performance of a rx580
6) if you're eagle-eyed, you notice i haven't specced in a case, that's because OCUK don't stock it. The case that you'd want to fit the vega 56 with is the Metallic Gear Neo-G mini.
I won't tell you where to get it from, but here's the review: https://bit-tech.net/reviews/tech/cases/metallicgear-neo-g-mini-review/1/ ;)
It's the Neo-G mini that you'll want to get - costs £70, not the Neo mini
7) Extra fans for the case (you'll need it - as it only comes with 1 fan pre-installed) - and it's a super value bundle, besides...
8) SSHD for a storage drive is pointless waste of money. A bog standard HDD is sufficient.
SSHD is the poor man's SSD, and with SSDs being so cheap and plentiful, it's increasingly going the way of the dodo...

so, basically for the same price, the below build trounces

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £906.54 (includes shipping: £11.70)
