Upgrade or not bother?!

Bit of a odd thread. Ive got a bit of an itch to upgrade not really sure why, as i dont really game, but I do plan on doing a bit of video and photo editing.

Right now I have a Intel I7 2600 based Mini ITX machine with 16gb ram and a radeon 280 gfx card. I was either thinking of going for a I5 8600K based system or a Ryzen7 1700 based system, erring more towards a Ryzen system due to price.

But then im thinking the current machine should be adequate for a bit of gaming, say for something like Asetto corsa? how about video editing?

Apologies for the vague thoughts, but im still trying to stop myself spending money lol.

Your current i7 , is it a K version ?

If not ryzen 2700 and itx b450 and should see so e gains with video editing

Like wise on some recent AAA games as well

As little as possible lol. I was looking at no more than £3-400, and thats got to cover for the mobo,cpu and ram.

I have a be quiet 700w jobbie iirc. That will get upgraded when i upgrade the GFX card.

If it does everything you want then there's no need to upgrade.
A lot of us aren't gaming as much anymore, gotta change spending on PCs to match usage.
