One of our best politicians who never held high office - much to our detriment.
How Nick Clegg and Vince Cable we’re both Knighted yet he wasn’t baffles me.
Different league to the majority of those in parliament and in his previous life.
RIP Lord Ashdown, not many deserve that title but he certainly did.

When I was studying A level politics I heard him speak at a conference, compared to all the other political speakers that day he was the only one who was both charismatic and genuinely seemed to care about improving the country.

We need more of these people running our Country instead of the absolute ballbags the are doing it now.
He was knighted, but he was also made a peer... ergo he is addressed as "Lord Ashdown".
He's actually got two knighthoods (note the KBE and GCMG after his name)
Ah, my bad, didn’t know that.
Still don’t think either Clegg or Cable deserve such an honour certainly by comparison.

He always came across well whether I agreed with his point or not, sorry to hear him go
