Morning guys and hope you all had a good Christmas.
Grabbed myself an Asus Turbo RTX 2080 for Xmas and seems it's DOA. Installed it last night and seemed to work ok until updating drivers. Initially the screen was filled with loads of red lines as if I was playing space invaders and the resolution was only on 1024 x 768. When I change to the max resolution available, 1280 x 960, all the red lines come back. Checked device manager and it recognised the card but had a yellow exclamation mark on it. There was also a message saying the device has been stopped due to a problem error code 43. I checked gpu-z and half the info was unknown and even nvidia inspector was greyed out with no info.
I tried clearing all previous drivers with ddu in safe mode, i tried the card in different slots and even tried switching from dp to HDMI with no effect. I can only assume the card is dead. I know there has been previous issues with the 2080 cards memory when supplied by micron but this card has Samsung memory. Only thing I have left to check is using 2 separate pci-e cables for power as currently using one that's split into 2.
Any other suggestions would be great, if possible.
