Just a little upgrade advice for my nephew, as i'm kinda out of the loop now with what's good and what's not.

Currently he is running a 4690k, 16gb ram and a 6gb gtx 1060. He wants to keep the gpu and upgrade his cpu/mobo and ram.

Destiny 2 is his main game atm.

He'll likely be better advised to upgrade the GPU. But this is an opportunity to teach him how to find where his system is falling short. Run his games with Task Manager and GPU-Z or use the Afterburner overlay and look at the results. If his GPU is at 100% then he needs a better GPU; if his CPU is at 100% then he needs a new CPU.

Hmm ok. He mentioned a week or 2 ago that he was getting frame drops in Destiny 2, so when i checked in task manager, it was using a lot of cpu. However, a lot of people it seems are reporting the same issue, even with newer cpu's, 8700k's etc. I will check it again with gpu-z and see.
