A friend won some sock garters in a Christmas raffle and they looked like the funniest thing ever with his jeans , something about it was just wrong... :D

Are we talking mere strips of elasticated ribbon that we used to keep up long woollen socks when we wore wellies, or are
we meaning those awful suspender things popular in the US ?

I thought they were phased out and replaced by having men's socks be more elasticated at the top of the sock, mine are

People still use them?

Sock garters you say ?

I’ve actually had the sock garters that connect to your shirt in order to keep my shirt tucked in tightly. I then got some that went around my thighs to hold my shirt down, but they were horrible to wear.

For the sock/shirt ones, it was a pain every time I took a ****, so I ditched them.

Wear what you want!

Unless one is in A&E and being undressed whilst near comatose, who would know whether one adhered to this means of keeping one's socks up? I look at normal male people and never contemplate whether they may be wearing sock suspenders or any other accoutrement under their trousers. Maybe I am still naieve and I should be be more intrusive? I am far more judgemental over track suit bottoms, trainers, medallions and tattoos, which the wearer displays openly.

Other than cheap football socks, I don't think I've ever had a pair of socks fall down, are these things really necessary?

Check out the 'what watch do you wear thread'.The type of people that will spend 5k + on a watch probably wear these too. :p
