Whats your thoughts on this?

My cousin usually sends christmas cards with a big photo of herself with her & family on the cover, all smiles, all very idyllic, I shall be placing it in my bathroom in the hope that I run out of loo roll one day.

This year I feel she took the lemon puff, she sends a card to my mum and it's basically filled with bullet points of all her achievements, everything, a list of her degrees, properties shes owns, a new property venture she has recently gotten into, her son getting a bursary for university, the list goes on, it honestly felt like a christmas CV, I'm half temped to ring up and say "Congratulations, you've got the job, we have been looking for someone to fill the role of a narcissist and you fit the bill perfectly".

Now maybe I'm missing something but how would you feel receiving a card like this?

Is this not yet another piece of nonsense that has come over from the USA which seems to revel in bigging themselves up?

I have a number of cousins and Aunts I don’t t see often I always write a little something about my year in it with each one getting an update from a different perspective. But not bragging just news they may not have heard.

Some of my friends that I don't see very often send cards like this, I like it.

She has probably plastered her life all over social media and the only way she can get gratification is to tell people how amazing she is ;)

Yep, this. I like it, it's harmless and a nice little personal touch. Granted if it's someone I hardly know or a colleague it could come across as cringey but family and close friends? Go nuts.

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

Oops this is awkward. Are you two cousins?

I hope you run out of loo roll and papercut your ass for moaning so much about a simple christmas card.
Found the narcissist!

Honestly though, a family photo card to family members is fine, at least if you don't see each other every week. The list of achievements though is cringey as **** and honestly embarrassing.

I'd not want to receive such a card no.

You could send one back saying how badly you are doing and how getting started on heroin was the worst choice you'd made this year.

A list of things that have happened in your year, sure, that's fine especially if you don't catch up with someone as much as you'd like.

A life history of qualifications, properties owned, children's achievements etc. seems a bit over the top though.

I'd find it weird getting a Christmas card like that, to say the least. I've not received one yet. We did get one of a photo of a lovely country house, which turned out to be owned by the senders of the card.

That made me a) think it was a bit weird having your own house on a Christmas card and b) envious of their house.
