How does one obtain a (UK) Costco membership card?

Study to become a doctor or a solicitor. Do your homework and take your vitamins. Gain a little experience in your field of choice for a while, then when you are ready venture into the local Costco.
 
The entire point of Costco membership is to reduce theft. If you can prove you’re not a theiving scumbag via your income then you’re allowed to join. I must say it makes for a far more enjoyable experience.
 
I got one claiming I was in the education sector when in reality I was maintaining a satellite campus for four hours a week changing lamps and unblocking toilets. If I can blag a membership, anyone can :D
 
Do they give you a credit line or something? What's the point of the beaurocracy? Here in the US you just walk in and pay for a membership and they print you a member card right there. For theft they have a guy standing at the exit who checks your receipt.

I love Costco I buy nearly everything there. Car batteries, tires, booze, furniture, pet food, even clothes sometimes.
 
Ha, never realised you needed a qualification or be in a listed industry to be accepted for membership. It's only a glorified cash and carry why on earth are they so selective.

Makes people feel exclusive even though virtually anyone could get one if they really wanted.
