I have a friend who is looking for a new car and I am looking for recommendations.
Her current car is a 51 Corsa 1.2 (Which she bought in 2003) and though she has always been happy with it, it has got to the point where she will either have to spend £1000+ sorting out its various issues (Which I would do, but I am not a Girl!) and keeping it or giving up and getting a replacement.
Despite the fact that I am a Mechanic, I am not actually that versed in the merits of modern cars from a buyers perspective..
(Actually, I loathe them, Wayy to much pointless techicrap that is not only stupidly expensive to fix when it goes wrong, but also where failure in irrelevant systems can stop you from actually using the car (Big hate=remote key-fobs! What is wrong with having a physical key as a reliable fail-safe backup FFS!

Second hand (IE not new, but like 2-3 years or so)
5 Door
1.0-1.6 petrol engine.
(I have actually been trying to push her into a small EV, but sadly her current domestic situation would not be appropriate. Otherwise, An EV would actually tick all her boxes)
Good all round visibility (She is not particularly confident at maneuvering so good visibility or a really good parking sensor thingy would be needed. )
Must not be Ugly (Yes, she did actuality say that) She liked (and still does) her Corsa so somthing that is similar would probably fit the bill.

She would also like dark blue!
Now, as i said, I would fix it and carry on (It needs a new AC compressor and a partial respray. There is no corrosion but the lacquer coat has peeled off over the bonnet, roof and tailgate. If it was me I would fix it and carry on. Everything else is just fine. but I feel she is just looking for a change.
So over to you, spec me a Girly car!
