Just thought it might be interesting to share the work I'm doing currently to a spare set of lights from my Noble.
Basically, in years gone by there was someone who made custom housings for the Noble to hold LED Rings. Sadly not many sets were made and they're incredibly sought after but never come up for sale. I've decided to try and create my own by butchering a set of spare lights
Stock/Current rear lights;
Inspiration for changing them;
And onto the project...
Take a set of old lights which I'd never put on the car in their current condition (bought for the bulbholders and plugs)
Then cut/snap out all the bulb holder fittings and diffusers etc which essentially gives me a shaped plastic with the correct shape & mountings that I can work from;
Bought some Hella rings, 112mm inside and 98mm outer. On the inside will be brake/tail ring and fog/reverse insert. The outer will be reflector ring and indicator insert. Do have reservations about the differing sizes but as you can see from the first photo, when they're the same size the inboard light looks a little smaller anyway. Measure 101 times, cut once...
I've got some pipe also which has the same OD as the hole I cut, almost the same ID as the light. Next step is to cut the pipe to length (and fit the profile of the light) and put a backing on the end of it to mount the LEDs to. I've started cutting the second light hole also but due to the profile my holesaw isn't deep enough so waiting on a new one to be delivered currently.
Very much a work in progress but figured would be good to document somewhere and thought it might be of interest to people potentially - Plus if it goes well I can then lift and shift this into a DIY for other owners
