I never like the metal bracelets, I took it off instantly really I much prefer Nato's/Zulu's and leather straps, I am tempted to try a Zuludiver rubber strap on it, From the reviews I read on it it seems the extension was digging into someone else's wrist too.

You got a picture of yours? I'd like to see it on a green nato! I may try an Orient Ray2/3 or Bambino next!

Here's some pictures of it on a green Zuludiver USM NATO and a leather NATO, also from Zuludiver. Sorry, I always struggle to get the images presenting correctly so here are direct links:

I've got a Mako 2 (the sunburst blue dial) and have to say that if you like the size/impact of the Samurai, you may be a little disappointed with the Orient, unless you find the Samurai dial quite dressy and want something quite casual. I wish I'd chosen a black Ray over the blue Mako. Dimensions wise, they are practically the same size but the bezel and face don't have as much presence. I find the day/date intrudes on the symmetry of the dial.

My first decent watch arrived yesterday from watch hut :)
A 42mm Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto H64615135.
It may not be up there with the Tudors and Omegas, but being a sci-fi fan, I like it and it's a start :p :)

Got my Seiko 5 to use as a work/rough watch. Actually pretty impressed with it, was £52 but I got hit customs for £19ish so about £70. Still better than uk prices from what I could see. I know the dates wrong just changed it.

Was from Creation Watches. I only wore it today but just noticed what looks like a small crack in the display back already lol. I have a grey nato that I got to put it on (photo incoming)

I prefer the grey but the nato is so bulky! far too much slack on it so will probs stick with the black.

Do normal fabric starps that are your typical two parts strap have a name? I would like one in grey thats like the stock strap as opposed to a nato.

I like that a lot :)
Thanks dod :)
I really like the way the numbers catch the light.
Yeah that Hamilton is nice! Is the braclet like a smoked colour or is just the lighting?
Thanks seanyc5. It must be the lighting, it's just the standard brushed steel strap.
I think I may look for some different strap options though.

Seems to be fairly accurate too. It hacks, so I set time using time.is at midnight and checking again now shows the watch approximately 1.5 - 2 seconds ahead.

[Edit] @seanyc5 I think you're looking for the RAF style single layer/single pass straps maybe?
You can mod a G10 NATO into an RAF style by cutting off the extra and sealing/singeing the ends etc.
I'm sure there's a guide somewhere...
Here's one i found

Ooh thats looks interesting, I can use a laser cutter at my work to cut the end off to be fair that did cross my mind haha. EDIT** I even have a butane solder/knife in my tool kit at work too :) **

Is it an ETA movement? I done the same with my Tudor North Flag when I first got it, was -1 after about 30 hours! I don't get why its called 'hacking' lol before I started looking into watches I would have assumed all watches fully stopped when you are setting the time haha. This Seiko does indeed carry on ticking so I think its just the better movements that do.

I believe the movement is made by ETA, but it's a modification which among other things, slows the beat and extends the power reserve to 80h

I thought the same, that movements would stop when setting the time, until I really started looking and reading this past week or so.

I also have no idea why they call it hacking either..
Takes on a whole new meaning with smart watches tho lol

It's due to the presence of a a hacking lever that moves when the crown is pulled out...but why it's called a hacking lever I do not know.

It's possible on some movements without a hacking seconds function to stop the seconds hand by applying slight backward pressure to the crown in the time setting position, and this is often best achieved when the watch is in a low state of wind. Some movements are designed to allow for this, others not, so best to check the user manual/user reports of doing it.

Well Bremont have got back to me, they are replacing the bracelet FOC, but the watch needs a service. £375, brilliant (sarcasm)!
Why does it need a service? If you're happy with it as it was, tell them to leave it be unless they can provide you with their reasoning.

They may have checked its amplitude or suchlike and that may be low, but they need to tell you why!
