Greetings and salutations

I Trust you are all well and a happy new year to one and all

I was wondering if I can again use the vast experience and knowledge of the OCUK to help out a friend with a upgrade.

She needs core components of CPU, MB and RAM, a PSU, SSD and GFX card.

The budget is £400 and I will be putting it together. I am open to bundles or individual components, I have been out of the building scene for a couple of years now and would greatly appreciate any assistance available.

Your help will be greatly appreciated

@citizenx13

using B-Grade to get as cheap as possible , ryzen 2400G with iGPU thats roughly between gt 1030 % gtx 1050 in performance or RX 550

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £348.06 (includes shipping: £11.10)

same new mATX B450 boards are about £80 but not in stock :(

then again depends on what the system is being used for , office/web surfing or gaming etc

more PSU power but not keen on the PSU to be honest

Thank you again guys, i have passed on Orbital's builds and she will be going for the first potion and saving up for a 1060 to upgrade to in a couple of months.

Appreciate everyone's input :)

If you have problems with the B-grade components, write here.
Also, notice that a 1060 minimum power supply requirement is 400W.
You need to be careful.

You will be fine but any possible future movements will be hugely restricted and you will need to update the PSU, too. You can get 500W for the same money!

Unless he plans to drop a 2080 ti in there or power hungry Vega then it's fine.

Whatever you do don't buy that rubbish Kolink KL500M psu or you will need to replace it very soon. It only has a pathetic 360w on it's 12v rail and it's internals are from the bottom of a bargain parts bin. Do not skimp on the psu. Buy a good one now and it will last you a long time. Skimp on the psu and you will more than likely regret it.

I swear by this as well, don't cheap out on the power supply unit it is the last thing you want to cheap out on!

Get at least a tier 2 power supply unit.
