Tracker subscription... err what? Loophole?

Zenith. Who have also signed off on it with a re issued policy certificate with the active subscription part removed

So you had to get them to explicitly remove it. What's with the rolleyes.

You can't conceal that information and then act like it isn't required.

You made it sound like a loophole.

I spoke to the md of pace ward and he said to be honest short of an opportunistic theft, gallardos are not prime targets. Too risky, too difficult to move on or get out the country.

A lot of cars are also stolen for parts. There probably isn't much of a demand for second hand Lambo parts.

Thieves target cars we see lots of because it's easy to shift.

Yes a loophole of not having to pay an implied tracker cost from the tracker company because they will still track the car regardless? Is it that bloody hard to understand?

The rest is just me covering my own ass just in case, and wasnt even a battle to do, i rang them up, had them confirm it with Vodafone and send me the updated policy documents for ny own sake.

Are you a lawyer?

I'm not a lawyer. But I know without Zenith explicitly dropping the requirement, if the vehicle was stolen then the claim could be avoided entirely (as the tracker would have been an underwriting requirement and they wouldn't have sold the policy otherwise).

Requiring a CAT5 tracker means having all CAT5 features active. It isn't just for show.

And a bespoke policy is bespoke as you can customise it. What he has is what he said. A tracker with no subscription which is supported by his insurer. Or have I missed something?

He only revealed that late on. Otherwise apparently it's a loophole. Kindai still insists he only did it for his own peace of mind.

Kindai has people gunning for him now he has a Lambo it seems so much salt and this is just an Internet forum :D

Get the tracker activated :D

So the question is, if I dont want these things, and dont subscribe, if someone nicked the car, would Vodafone help track it if it was reported stolen?

Pretty sure that this was the point I was making, and have subsequently found out, yes, they will. Loophole found, I dont have to pay stupid money to vodafone?

People actually spend their own time reading in to someone else's car insurance terms and conditions? Christ I wish I had that kind of time on my hands.

£400 saved is £400 saved. Doesn't matter if the car is worth £1,000 or £1,000,000, if I could save £400 in any manner of my life I would. Job well done kindai.

I just used the BMW app on my phone to track the M5, which was limited until you paid BMW some extra cash. Can the systems in the Lambo not do this?

Alternatively, just hard wire an iphone into the dash. :D

Trackers fail, and you only would know if you have an active subscription. So I can't believe you're willing to chance that it might still work when you call Voda if your car goes missing? I've had 2 x trackers fail, and replaced FOC because under subscription - one of them brought my old car back to me!

So I think what I've deduced here is that @kindai really isn't fussed about tracking the car if it is taken and was simply trying to satisfy the insurer's requirements, which he has now done. Or maybe not, I'm not sure :D

Not quite sure why people are getting so heated over this topic mind...

The day I got my current car I was talking with a couple of police officers about getting a tracker, they said not to bother paying a sub as if it ever got stolen the company would track it anyway. Seems to be a well known 'loophole'.

Also, money saved, is money saved. :)
