Hi all,

I know your all fed up of these threads.. but I'm literally useless so I really do appreciate all advice.

Looking to have an attempt at building my own PC, using a couple of existing parts that I already have on my current set up (I bought pre built from eBay around 4-5 years ago, so it's getting on now!) The main aim is to get a decent enough spec together to play first person shooting games online : COD, BF etc.

Current parts I already have:

PSU: Corsair CX600
SSD: 256gb
HD: 2tb
Peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitors, headphones)

Parts I'm looking to upgrade / replace:

Motherboard : Asus PZ (not sure exactly model, my bad)
CPU: i5-3570k @3.40ghz
Graphics card: NVIDEA GeForce GTX 660

New case also required

Budget circa £500 - 600

Which upgrades are the most important for a decent performing, relatively cheap gaming PC?!

All help is VERY appreciated

Thanks for the reply.

Looks some impressive kit (by my limited knowledge!).

However, it doesn't include a case.. any suggestions on one? And where I could save a couple of ££ on the above upgrades / components? Really like a couple.of fans with LED lights, maybe RNG? But I don't know what size / shape I require

Also, as my OS is installed on my SSD.. if I.just simply disassemble my current set up and build a new one, plugging that SSD in... Will it just boot right up? Or will I have to re-install a new OS? Sorry for the novice questions!!

How old that PSU is?
If as old as rest of the PC and you use PC lot daily then it's quite old.
It simply wasn't designed to last long in enthusiast use.

Yeah, that's a good point. I wouldn't say it's been hampered, but it has served me well for fairly regularly.

I'm now considering extending my budget, and attempting a full build?! Going with the parts recommended above. It looks something like this.. everything look ok??
