So you don't read any news at all? Because it is trash? How do you find out whats going on in the word/the UK etc.. forum posts and social media or something?

I stopped about a year ago. Sick of hearing all the opinionated crap and from what I've last seen, I haven't missed much. As it hasn't changed. It has gotten worse. The radio isn't any better. As for what's going on in the world? I talk to people or in most cases just simply listen to them without forming opinions. Forums/posts, social media? God, no! Outrage culture, are you mad...

Anyway, though it might seem like an alien concept, some people do like to keep themselves informed and having newspapers and other sources available on tablets, phones etc.. is rather useful in that respect.

That's the problem though, most people love all the gossip, lies and rags. That's not what I called informed what the media thinks they want you to know.

Why does making a thread about something clearly indicate offence?

People make threads to question things or to voice a range of opinions etc.. just because the story concerns someone being offended doesn't imply that the opinion of everyone sharing or commenting on it is also one of being offended. Some people find it amusing tbh...

So how do you stay informed without resorting to news organisations? Social media? Youtube?

You know you don't have to read the opinion section and exposing yourself to multiple sources can give eliminate a lot of the potential for lies etc..

And Gen X need's to be deported to a very small hole, what of it? Why blame an entire generation for something a vastly minute minority screams about? It's like blaming the Silent generation for Nazism.

I'll agree with this. Reposting crap over the internet doesn't point and laugh at the original item, it just perpetuates the idiocy to a wider audience, fuelling the message.

E.g
In preinternet days if you saw a random lunatic ranting about total nonsense before in the street the chances are you'd cross the road and avoid them. These days the done thing is to post and repost about them which gives them exposure to a wider group of people....:rolleyes:
