But I don't use RSS feeds, I find my bait the old fashioned way

I don't either, but a thread containing a news story about something trivial or ridiculous on here is generally considered to be an "RSS thread".

Some people don't like them, to the point where they still make sure to read them and then post several comments in them either directly or indirectly conveying that they don't like the fact the thread even exists.

I'm confused as I didn't open the link, do I need to get an inflatable ghost Hitler to use the car sharing lane when I go to buy DIY supplies for my terrorist activities?

As long as you haven't got a full size cardboard cut-out of Dick Van Dyke in the passenger seat, you are fine

When it comes to asking the public to be vigilant about the threat of terrorism, you can't go wrong with this bulletin:

;)

Of course this bulletin is out of date, as the word 'foreigner' is now an anachronism that must never again be used by right-thinking folks.

Yet again people assuming the police are idiots like they don't know we will be all having this reaction, that's the point, make it subtle. 1984.

It's a crass campaign and has all the subtlety of a Gregg's sausage roll, but a vast majority of all foiled terrorist plots come from innocuous reports from the public, and that's been drying up over the last year or two .
