OK this isn't some unwarranted criticism from a gender studies professor or some triggered SJWs etc.. I'm actually quite shocked by this myself, both that someone would want to do something like this as in actively go out with a weapon wanting to have a confrontation in order to give an excuse to kill a random person, let alone specifically wanting that person to be of a specific race as some form of crude revenge and also that he'd readily admit to it as though people would empathise with it! As if this was the sort of thing that might just get brushed aside these days???

Am I wrong? Am I turning into an SJW myself? Please tell me none of you empathise with his mindset then?

In the interview, he said: "God forbid you've ever had a member of your family hurt under criminal conditions. I'll tell you a story. This is true."

Neeson said the alleged rape took place a long time ago and he found out about it when he came back from a trip abroad. The actor went on to use racially offensive language about the attacker.

He said: "She handled the situation of the rape in the most extraordinary way.

"But my immediate reaction was... I asked, did she know who it was? No. What colour were they? She said it was a black person.

"I went up and down areas with a cosh, hoping I'd be approached by somebody - I'm ashamed to say that - and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some [uses air quotes with fingers] 'black *******' would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could kill him."

What a strange thing for him to bring up while promoting his film. I'm sure the female concerned is chuffed to bits.

Sounds like complete keyboard warrior rubbish TBH, and it will come back to (quite rightly) bite him on the arse. So many of these 'celebs' seem to live in a bubble, and are very self destructive.
He could have just blown his career with these comments.

Today on SJW News 24: Which is worse? Rape or racially offensive language? Our panel express their feelings and love for each other in a safe space after these commercials.

If this was in Northern Ireland there was an to a point still is an ingrained racism that would explain but not excuse part of his thinking. Stupid thing to say though, man's going senile.

So it's natural to want to seek revenge. Not being able to identify the person meant he couldn't. He did some silly thing of hanging around waiting for someone to pick a fight with him, presumably they didn't. Presumably the attacker was never brought to justice.

What is weird and totally SJW is how it's become a headline, with people from Twitter expressing their outrage. Liam Neeson didn't "spark a race row", he told a personal story, and the media turned it into a race row.

Was it any black man he wanted to kill or the rapist, who was in fact black? Why not report he wanted to kill the rapist or the man who raped his friend.

This smells....

I'm sure there are plenty of wannabes who will finish the job for him.

Silly man.

(Edit: silly, not for his anger at the time but for making it known now when he has influence and there are so many easily influenced racists about.)

This is a bit more than offensive language - he was actively walking around with a weapon hoping he could kill a black person, that is pretty messed up.

And what did he think would happen when he decided to go on the record with this little admission???

Perhaps he's retiring and he really hates the producers of the film he's supposed to be promoting, I bet they're going to be really pleased about that interview!

Well he didn't just hang around looking for a fight, he hung around with a weapon looking for a fight as an excuse to kill someone. He also specifically wanted that person to be black, not the rapist per say but any random black person who might get into an altercation with him.

At the end of the day, it happened long ago and he is telling he story in a way where he is admitting it was a terrible mistake and how pointless revenge actually is.

I don’t think he should be too vilified over it

"I went up and down areas with a cosh, hoping I'd be approached by somebody - I'm ashamed to say that - and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some [uses air quotes with fingers] 'white *******' would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could kill him."

I've changed one word. If this happened to be the real quote, not a single person would bat an eyelid and this article probably wouldn't exist.

That isn’t how that works. You would also have to have the protagonist as a black person. And yes a black person wanting to murder someone purely because they are white would quite rightly be received similarly.

I was going to say, replace it with ginger hair and it just sounds descriptive rather than racist.

The article didn't mention whether he was looking for a Darth Maul lookalike however.
