Hi,

Sorry for the basic question... just wondered if someone can tell me if £250 for a MOT + Interim Service is a crazy amount to pay? This is for a 2010 Ford Fiesta at 60k miles at a local village garage.

Wanted to check because KwikFit quote £172 for MOT+Full Service, so that's quite a difference... but then I have at least some faith in the quality of the local garage's work. Should I shop around more or is £250 for interim+mot fairly sensible these days?

Thanks!

Max fee for an MOT (car) is £54.85, so that would make your service about £190.

I would check the Ford website to see what their pricing is, as a local indy should be much cheaper. Then shop around for an MOT.

How the hell are you guys getting MOTs so cheap? I pay either 45 or 50 for my cars and even that is a cash payment.

I ended up booking the MOT at KwikFit for £29 plus some quidco cashback. Seems like a good deal as long as they dont inflate/create problems! Will separately go for a Ford motcraft service then for the £149 as you guys suggested :) Thanks - hopefully a sensible saving!
