Which is best at 3440x1440, Vega 56 or RTX 2060?

So I took the plunge on a new Ultrawide monitor and my GTX 970 just doesn't quite cut it now.

Which card would I be better getting, bearing in mind the monitor is Freesync and 100Hz?

I believe the Nvidia drivers will work with the Freesync on this monitor.

Thanks

Neither will drive it at 100hz, but I'd bet tempted by the Sapphire vega 56 they're selling here - undervolted it should manage vega 64 speeds.
The extra memory will be useful at that resolution.
I got the vega 64 nitro+ - mine's a bit flaky at the moment but it's a good card and very quiet.

The 2060 is faster overall but it is much of a muchness and either will do you well. I would be swayed for the 2060, purely on the basis of it having more features like DLSS and RayTracing.

I guess it depends on the prices of each card but Hardware Unboxed made an interesting video about the 2060 and 6GB VRAM which may be worth a watch.

Thing is, with the raytracing - it's never going to be playable at your res anyway, with a 2060.
Ditto DLSS at the moment, as it's only enabled in 4k.
They might get to support your res, or they might not.

3440x1440 Vega 56 under-volted for me personally.
Only £299, sell the games and its cost you around £250 :)

Ok, so based on those videos, the 2060 has the edge.

However, £299 is a much more appealing price!

Decisions decisions.....

The Division 2 beta is reporting 7000mb ram usage at Ultra & thats only regular 1440p. So has to be Vega 56.. nvidia are just taking the mickey with 6gb vram on the 2060.

Decision made.

Vega 56 it is, I'll look to overclock it too, is that easy?

Thanks for the input :)

Check owners forum and your actually better to under-volt and just leave it, as then it will boost higher by itself. :)

100% concur with the V56 suggestion. My brother's having a great time with his at 1440p standard and has achieved 1700MHz on the core with a little tweaking/undervolting.
