Liam Neeson race row - he wanted to kill a black man!

ain your point more clearly if you're going to quote me. I can perhaps second guess what you're getting at but it is clearer if you just make point in the first place.

Really? so just being out and about with the thought/intention (whatever you want to call it, doesn't really matter) of killing someone is an offence now whether or not you actually carry it out? What is this? the minority report?

Where did I make that claim? Why not just respond to what I’ve posted if you’re going to quote me.

Well, I don't know about blackface but it should have been pulled for just being **** and making the wearer look like a right numpty :p

I'm not even sure what you're claiming to be honest, what exactly do you think he doing during that week? Just loitering around waiting for black people? They're not that hard to find, if he really had the intention of killing someone he would have.

I think he is deeply racist.

I can never imagine saying or thinking like he did.

In my early life I've hanged around with people we'd deem as racist these days... and to be honest only the nutcases of that group would think something like neeson said.

John Barnes making a fool of themself too. He has this fantasy that all white people think like this and neeson just proved him right. Neeson as done more harm for race relations than anyone else in recent years.

WAS, not is, WAS!

People are confusing their tenses, mixing up is and was, unless of course you are of the belief that people cannot change.

To compound things, growing up in Northern Ireland in the 80s there was pretty apparent racism through ignorance and an insular society, I expect this to have been even worse 20 years earlier.

Why not read what he was quoted as saying if you're unaware:

https://www.theguardian.com/film/20...friend-was-raped-i-wanted-to-kill-a-black-man

Guardian said:
“I went up and down areas with a cosh, hoping I’d be approached by somebody – I’m ashamed to say that – and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some ‘black *******’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could … kill him.”

Likewise if there is something you don't understand re: what I've posted then feel free to quote me and ask me about it or respond to it etc..

Going off on some silly tangent about the minority report etc.. has no relevance to anything I've said.

I know what he said, but the fact is he never went through with it, if he really had the intention to do harm why wait to be approached? What exactly was he doing? given them dirty looks for a week? This could make a good comedy sketch actually. :p

Is what he did right? No, of course not and he's admitted as much but no harm was done.

He did go through with it to the extent that he went out on the streets hoping to have the chance to kill someone. It isn't like he just had those thoughts, he's said he actually did it too, fortunately no one did get into a confrontation with him.

Why wait to be approached? Presumably so he has some thin veil of an excuse to kill them.

What he did wasn't a crime, I don't think anyone would say that. But the thought of his mindset is alarming as ****. I think it's pointless debating if he is still racist or not. I think it's obvious he isn't now. But he very clearly was then, it's the denial that what he did then was racist that is baffling.

What he did was wrong and he admitted as much himself but no crime was committed, if he was intent on harming somebody he would have whether approached or not, how difficult is it to find a disagreeable person who might approach you if you give them a funny look? Not difficult at all and he had a whole week to think about it.

People can think irrationally at times, especially when somebody they care about is hurt by another, his actions probably made perfect sense at the time but on reflection he realised he was wrong, was that racist? quite likely, if she said the attacker is German, French or Ginger would he have gone looking for them? probably not but idk for sure.

Have you tried it? He did, he by his own admission, intended to kill someone - I don't know what you're trying to argue here - that he lied about what he confessed to and that you know something different about what he did several decades ago?

What? to start a fight? Intentionally and unintentionally, Yes, just go-to any city centre on a Friday night and make eye contact with random people, won't take long at all. :D

This is something you've done yourself?

He didn't state that he'd been approaching people in an attempt to provoke them etc..
