2 1080 GTX vs one 1080TI

Just posting for a mate.
He's got a 1080 Strix and has just bought a 4k monitor. upgrade from a 1080/1200
Question is would it be better to have two 1080s or sell the 1080 and buy a 1080TI
He's not looking for RTX at the moment because he plays Dest 2. and Anthem when it comes out.

No many games support sli so Bester off with 1 card.

Think it was the medium setting's he was only able to run in anthem demo. That got him thinking

At 4K you can use more than 8 GB of video ram on high end games, so GTX 1080ti would be better IMO.

Depends. Do the games he plays support SLI?
Generally is better to sell the 1080 and buy a 1080Ti, as SLI support these days is worse than CF, by miles.

I don't understand the need to still push for a TI over let's say a 2080... Surely there no cheaper now ? Havnt looked as not in the market for one but it seems counter intuitive when you can get a 2080 for 650ish

As an Ex-SLI user, steer clear and always go for the single card route!

SLI isn't normally worth it anymore unless the game/application you want to run benefits. From a gaming point of view, minimum frame rate is important, and a 1080Ti will more often than not beat a pair of 1080s in that regard.
