Hi,

Is it me or can you not turn this off in the bios?

I don't want to download any unnecessary apps if I can switch it off in the bios.

Board is a b450 pro pro carbon

Thanks

The Stilt didn't find BIOS option for disabling that RGB garbage when reviewing that motherboard half year ago.
(same for other MSIs he has tested)

And if lack of BIOS control for those weren't bad enough, also used controller doesn't even contain any own Flash memory.
Hence settings reset on every shutdown needing running MSI's bloatware permanently.

Yeah I checked that and the option isn't there. Annoying because it's on as default and I can't turn it off without installing bloat

Thanks though

Download Mystic light, configure the lights how you want them, ie off or on in the pattern that you want them in, reboot you computer, uninstall the mystic light software, reboot again, unless you clear the cmos or flash the bios, what you set in the mystic light software should remain active, with or without the software.

If you want to get rid of the damn red LED by the RAM which shows you have XMP enabled in the bios though, the only way to do this is to disable XMP and hard set you timings and RAM speed manually, all other LED's can be configured via the software.

Ah ok that's worth a try, not sure what you mean about the XMP light, it's enabled and I haven't noticed a light but the RGB might be distracting me from it.

Thanks

On my MSI X470 motherboard, I have a very bright red LED right by the memory slots, it only comes on when I enable XMP, its in-between the RAM slots and the 24 pin ATX connector, I wrote all the RAM settings down in the bios, disabled XMP and manually entered them all, the last red light is now out.

Only more expensive MSI's have Flash memory in RGB controller for storing settings.

Old thread I know, but thanks for this. Been wondering why those bloody LEDs are on above the RAM & how to turn them off!
