Stop breeding dam it.

I wonder if she is going to tell African nations and Middle Eastern nations to stop having kids.

She is an absolute moron. Typical socialist.

Here come the breitbarf and Koch warriors with their copy paste insults about someone who has the majorities opinion of her policies as positive.

Practically however it doesn’t matter, we already have less children simply because it’s economically impossible without suffering immeasurably at the hands of idiotic anti-family policies from ironically pro family Tories/GOP.

So whatever, the greatest damage ever done to family values were the very people preaching it.

I currently feel regret for not having any at this age, and would also regret bringing any into this pit of despair of a society, so I don’t really know where I stand.

So she thinks we need to stop having children

Did you even read the article you posted?

It even gives you an exact quote of her words:
“It is basically a scientific consensus that the lives of our children are going to be very difficult, and it does lead young people to have a legitimate question: is it OK to still have children?”

So she didn't say we need to stop having children at all...

By virtue of her saying we should have fewer children she is saying we should stop having children... Eg not having as many. This is simple to understand folks. Both points are simultaneously correct.

This really.

I think there's a concern about western countries where birth rates have dropped to something that's unlikely to be sustainable for long term. The Hungarians i believe are pledging huge tax cuts and monetary payments for those with several children.

Unfortunately the world has become unbalanced, you've got African countries where average children per parent is something insane like 10-20+ whereas western countries are falling short of 2.

It also says:

Ocasio-Cortez is not encouraging people stop having children. And as the leading advocate of the Green New Deal plan – which aims to radically transform the US economy by 2030 – she is one of the few politicians to be working on a plan that might just offer a way to avoid the worst impacts of this crisis.

This isn’t even correct, the highest birth rate in the world is currently 7 in Niger. The birth rate is intact falling massively everywhere.

Considering some of those die, it’s hardly an immense number, in fact if the level of inhospitable areas on the planet rise, then the birth rate will also likely rise to counter.

Again, from the article

And even if you accept the premise that having fewer children will tackle climate change, there is also the thorny question of exactly who should be having fewer kids: an American is responsible for 40 times the emissions produced by a Bangladeshi, but often those who advocate population reduction focus on women in the developing world.

"Fewer", not "stop". Good lord, man. What IS the matter with you?

Also, she's right.

No need to impose restrictions, birth rates in western countries are already lower than previously. It would also be wise to learn from past experiences where this has happened. Look at China, for decades it had a 1 child policy, now the country is in a situation where the older generation far outstrips the young generation, which is exactly why they changed the policy.

Oh and that Cortez women is as crazy as they come.

1. Niger 7.153 children per woman
2. Somalia 6.123 children per woman 2
3. Dr Congo 5.963 children per woman 3
4. Mali 5.922 children per woman 4

Semple, don't make **** up.

So crazy the majority agree with her, we like majorities in this country now don’t we?

Western countries are falling, care to elaborate how you plan to restrict 3rd world countries? You are aware that while birth rates are high, so are deaths, the average person barely manages 50 in some of those countries. Let alone the fact deaths at birth are extremely common.

Improve their economic outlook and it’ll fall sharpish.

Indeed as I’ve already said it’s already falling. Population will solve itself, so frankly this discussion is well overblown by everyone.

My god , how do you even motivate yourself to get our of bed in the morning?
