Stop breeding dam it.

If she's serious about this then what she should do is promote a massive program of female education and equal rights in Africa, India and the Middle East. It is the one proven way to reduce population growth and is entirely voluntary and therefore humane, by virtue of the fact it gives women in these countries the CHOICE of something other than exhausting themselves having five or more children.

I suspect that will not be the focus of her efforts, however. And as regards using "children will have hard lives" as a motivating argument, that's really a testament to how terrified of hardship people are in the modern West than it is a valid argument. How hard did most of our grandparents have life? Our great-grandparents even more so. Should they not have lived and been born? And thus none of us here?

I agree the world's population should be lower. But I doubt she'll approach it in a logically consistent and equitable way. Or acknowledge the consequences of a unilateral approach to this.
Oddly enough the Republicans and the Pro lifers have spent years/decades making that much harder as one of the key things is sex education and birth control and the Republicans love to demand that in exchange for any money for healthcare the facilities don't do abortions because "pro fetus but screw the baby/child" would be a better description, and most facilties tend to house multiple services under the same roof, including things like emergency/life saving abortion facilities (IE when the mother is likely to die, or the fetus is not viable). Then you've got the likes of the American Catholics who only fund abstinance programs and withold funding for other services if someone suggests other forms of birth control that actually work...

Just have one or two kids and bring them up good. These baby pumping machines need to rot no need for 5+ kids. Shut your legs for the sake of the world.

I assume you're talking about developing countries, as almost nobody in the western world does this (less than 1% of families in the UK: source). If that's right, you're dead wrong. People in developing countries absolutely do need to have many kids as their economies don't offer the same support ours does as people age, as well as the fact that child mortality is higher. I'm interesting in your thoughts on possible approaches to solve this?

34 not had any kids, enjoying have a 5 figures in savings and 2 all inclusive holidays a year.

Thats enough incentive for me

Sums her up perfectly.

To save the planet having fewer kids is obviously a good thing.
If no people were around the climate would correct itself .

It would be a disaster for our society however .

My gf is a strong environmentalist . One of her reasons for not having kids is the environment one

The African nations etc stated isn't a fair comparison . They don't destroy the planet anywhere near as much as we do in the west

I agree with her that we (the whole world) need to have less children. However the reality is that whilst we in the west do it, others wont. Then to keep our economy's growing (because that's the most important thing apparently), we'll have to import more and more people who will then not follow our example because they follow different cultures.

Urgh! That dancing story was such a political stunt. A video of her dancing was posted by some unknown party. Suddenly the media was flooded with stories about how "the Right's" mockery of her was backfiring because people actually thought it was cool. Meanwhile, me who reads a tonne of right wing sources never saw anyone who actually gave a damn about it in the first place. It was bizarre - like some Jussie Smollet style defence against attacks that just weren't a thing. But they wanted them to be a thing.

I was primarily focused on the tight T-Shirt.
