Need a 3.5mm headset with noise-cancelling mic, preferably with a soft cover to prevent popping. Don't need surround sound or anything fancy.

I don;t think that's suitable as it only has 1 3.5mm combi jack for mic/headset. i need one that splits for my PC.

Don't have a budget, just looking for the best. I would get a pilot headset like the Telex Airman 8 for £500.

Do you have quiet environment with only keyboard noises etc or noisy environment and need closed design headphone capable to isolating noise of environment?

I've always found a assigning a push to talk hot key on the keyboard a better solution than having an open mic.
Stops feedback and any unwanted background noise and therefore removes the need for a fancy mic.

voice activation works fairly well on Discord etc. Still a problem in busy rooms though. I'd argue that you need a decent mic regardless though, just because you don't hear it..
