Right now I have an AMD and I'm still looking through ones to buy and my friend recommended me this so thought I'd ask how good it is and can it run most games?

Thanks:)

It is a decent chip, you can play some games with it, mostly 1080p with reduced details or 720p at mid details but pretty decent for the price.

What do you think is better between the Ryzen 5 quad core 1500X or the ryzen 5 2400g?

Well the 2400G has built in graphics. The Ryzen 5 quad core 1500X will require a graphics card which will be faster than using the graphics built into the 2400g. I thought you asked about the 2400g because you cant afford a graphics card. There's no point buying a 2400g if you're going to have a graphics card anyway. The video I posted was assuming you were going to be using it's built in graphics.

I don't have a graphics card at the moment which is why I want to change my cpu because my current one is crap and the integrated graphics card I currently have is just useless.

Is it worth buying a graphics card with the 2400g? The main idea I have here is I want to be able to buy something that can run most games (the only high demanding game I have is Doom currently).

We don't know your budget Pazza. A B-Grade Ryzen 1200 (£59.99 in OcUK Deals > Clearance section) and a second-hand GTX 970 for £75 from the Bay or the Gum place, would be a lot more bang for buck. Doom is not very demanding compared to other games so it would help with those. Long as you have a decent PSU.

If you decide on a 2400g APU then i'd recommend 16gb ddr4 3000/3200 ram as it reallly helps with gaming. I,m using a 2400g with an Asus Prime A320k motherboard and 16gb 3000 ram and its a decent performer.
