Thanks, this was very helpful. But I have 8GB ram so does that mean I need to upgrade it?There's plenty of reviews on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZxax9SAtRI
What do you think is better between the Ryzen 5 quad core 1500X or the ryzen 5 2400g?It is a decent chip, you can play some games with it, mostly 1080p with reduced details or 720p at mid details but pretty decent for the price.

At the moment I have this;What exactly have you got, what motherboard in particular but everything else too, and how much £ for upgrade?

At the moment I have this;
AMD A8-9600 Radeon R7, 10 compute cores 4C+6G
64 bit
8GB ram
DDR4
Motherboard is ASRock, A320M-HDV.
Well the 2400G has built in graphics. The Ryzen 5 quad core 1500X will require a graphics card which will be faster than using the graphics built into the 2400g. I thought you asked about the 2400g because you cant afford a graphics card. There's no point buying a 2400g if you're going to have a graphics card anyway.
Yes, will it work? That's my main concern. Will it work with my motherboard?Ryzen 2400G is a huge upgrade over your APU.

My friend works with computers so I'm sure he will know how to do that. I just don't want to buy something that isn't compatible with my motherboard.A320M-HDV?
It should, but you'll most likely need to do a BIOS upgrade first.
8gb RAM is fine, 16gb is better.
