We don't know your budget Pazza. A B-Grade Ryzen 1200 (£59.99 in OcUK Deals > Clearance section) and a second-hand GTX 970 for £75 from the Bay or the Gum place, would be a lot more bang for buck. Doom is not very demanding compared to other games so it would help with those. Long as you have a decent PSU.

That was my original recommendation a while back. The 2400g is surprisingly capable and will be a good CPU once he decides to buy a separate GPU.

ryzen 1200 + gtx 1050(ti) or 1200 + rx 570 4gb, the 1200 will work with your motherboard straight out the box without issues and either of the graphic card will handle doom well, on the used market up to about £150 for both if you look hard enough.
