So I start my week off with a trip to A&E. I have a case of acute Vertigo. If I move, I seem to fall over (and maybe vomit). Sent home with medicine and told to stay motionless for as much as possible for the next few days.
Vertigo is not fun.

Anyone else experience Vertigo before? I thought it was just a little bit stronger than dizziness.

I'm likening it to coming off the waltzers, but 10x as bad.

Literally could not stand up for 4 hrs. Now I can lie still and the room isn't spinning, and can walk with help, but if i don't move very slowly I feel sick and start to fall.

I’ve had mild vertigo before twice. Once due to meds and once, due to wax buildup in my ears. Horrible feeling.

Yours sounds worse though. I hope you make a quick recovery. Have they said what’s caused it?

Yes once, lasted around a week. Spent the entire time crawling around as standing up resulted in instant chunder And blackout.

Was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis/virtigo

Was signed out of work for 3 weeks and as i work at height they wouldnt let me come back untill id had a full medical

Doctor at A&E said the same diagnosis.

I can work from home thankfully, and I'm off this week with nothing planned but decorating.

All started suddenly at about 9:30 this morning. I'd already got up and made tea etc. Went back to bed, watched some YouTube and then tried to get up and just fell over.

I was pretty damn scared. I had no idea what was going on, and neither did my gf.

Thanks mate. Viral infection by the sounds of it.
All just so sudden.

The missus has to manage this daily. For her it is bought on by certain lights and she has to take medication for it. It's a nightmare in the winter.

I had something similar about 5 years ago. I went to get out of bed to go to the toilet and next thing I know I come round on the chair in my bedroom, thank god it was there, and the world is spinning. Contacted my doctors and was diagnosed, can’t remember what it was called, with the lining of my inner ear flaking off and the flakes hitting the little hairs in there that send signals to the brain of my spatial orientation sending conflicting signals to my brain.

A few weeks later, after a course of tablets, the dizziness went.

Ever since I now pause for a second before I stand up from bed to make sure I’m not dizzy.

I have had since December BPPV which sounds like what EllorR has suffered with.
Had 3 eply manoeuvres done and hopefully the last one has worked. Still suffering with migraines but hopefully they will get better.

I find that all very weird. Crystals in the ear or something odd like that. It’s amazing that just manipulating your head in a certain way can cure it.

Personally, I don’t think there’s anything worse than balance disorders. Can be life ruining.

I want positive news only lol.

I can't imagine dealing with this as a child.

I'm on prochlorperazine. Hopefully will help.

So many plans for this week off too.
