So I start my week off with a trip to A&E. I have a case of acute Vertigo. If I move, I seem to fall over (and maybe vomit). Sent home with medicine and told to stay motionless for as much as possible for the next few days.
Vertigo is not fun.

Anyone else experience Vertigo before? I thought it was just a little bit stronger than dizziness.

I'm likening it to coming off the waltzers, but 10x as bad.

Literally could not stand up for 4 hrs. Now I can lie still and the room isn't spinning, and can walk with help, but if i don't move very slowly I feel sick and start to fall.

Yes once, lasted around a week. Spent the entire time crawling around as standing up resulted in instant chunder And blackout.

Was diagnosed with Labyrinthitis/virtigo

Was signed out of work for 3 weeks and as i work at height they wouldnt let me come back untill id had a full medical

Doctor at A&E said the same diagnosis.

I can work from home thankfully, and I'm off this week with nothing planned but decorating.

All started suddenly at about 9:30 this morning. I'd already got up and made tea etc. Went back to bed, watched some YouTube and then tried to get up and just fell over.

I was pretty damn scared. I had no idea what was going on, and neither did my gf.

I’ve had mild vertigo before twice. Once due to meds and once, due to wax buildup in my ears. Horrible feeling.

Yours sounds worse though. I hope you make a quick recovery. Have they said what’s caused it?
Thanks mate. Viral infection by the sounds of it.
All just so sudden.

I want positive news only lol.

I can't imagine dealing with this as a child.

I'm on prochlorperazine. Hopefully will help.

So many plans for this week off too.

I have Ménière’s disease.

I feel your pain.

I get random attacks of it, some lasting days. Awful sickness. Can only crawl.

Just got to stay positive!
I should stop reading the internet.

I do have a bit of tintinitus..but have had for years and it doesn't bother me. Comes and goes and is very mild.

Well it's been 12 hours. I'm in bed. Wondering how long I'm going to be here. Thankfully I can still do stuff as long as I don't move my head too much.

I'll keep you posted of my exciting experience.

I've had it a couple of times where I'm walking into things and feeling nauseous anytime I stand up. Had it on holiday once and had to just lie in bed for a few days. Hope you feel better soon it's not nice!
That I can live with. Well I can live with anything I guess, you just get on.

The more I read the worse I feel calling 999. Especially when they were busy. But I just really had no idea it was vertigo and it wasn't "that" urgent. I was really freaked out...panicking probably didn't help. Never experienced anything like it. The intensity was unreal.

This morning I'm moving, I still feel sick and dizzy if I move my head at any speed but slow. But definitely better than last night.

I'm hoping I'll be more mobile later in the week so I can so some light decorating.

Ok. So up and about now. Yesterday was better than today. Felt more unbalanced today, although ive been a bit more active. Went to b&q with my dad for paint etc for the hallway I was meant to do on Monday. i've got better through out the day.

Not tried to drive yet. Not rushing this, and will likely arrange for some colleagues to ferry me to and from work next week.

I haven't bothered with the prochlorperazine since yesterday morning. Seems better to let my body experience it and adjust.

Had this once for a few weeks, would wake up in the night and literally would panic to grab onto *anything* because it felt like I was falling, and even when I was bracing myself against the wall and the bedpost, it would feel like I was spinning and falling to the point of wanting to throw up.

Horrible horrible feeling.

That was pretty much my first day :-(

So I'm almost recovered..I think.

I seem to have heavy aching ears and a bit of mild tinnitus. I get T every now and again, but had this for a few days, and it's worse than usual.

Hopefully it's just part of the recovery process. Aching ears makes me think it is all viral.

I had my phase return back to work yesterday for 4 hours and it was different. I had to focus on a certain point when walking and then find another etc. I got through it and I am a little happier for it. Still strange not being in charge of your own body lol.

Glad you're pushing through.

I didn't drive for almost 2 weeks, well once to the corner shop.

I'm back at work but it is so tiring. Had an all-day workshop and it was really tough. Lots of moving around to talk / listen to people.

Went for lunch and the belt where you put your tray when finished started to move and I almost vomitted. Really exposed that I'm far from recovered.

Around my house I'm fine, in my office I'm fine, but too much movement and it makes we tired and nausea comes on. Apex makes me sick as well.

I am defo getting better, but it's taking its time.

Just hope it really was viral and it won't come back!

Ringing in ears is pretty annoying. I can live with it as is, I've always had a little tinnitus, but hoping as the infection goes and my stress levels reduce so will the ringing.

This has definitely been a shock to me. Amazing how fragile we can be. People at work have been really helpful. A colleague has constantly been looking out for me when I look a bit off. Some people have no idea what vertigo is and just think it's another term for feeling dizzy. I take my time to stress to them it's **** horrendous.
