Hi All,

I am looking for some thoughts on RAM upgrade options,

I currently have 2x8GB G-Skill 3200CL15 single rank with Samsung B-Die (F4-3200C15D-16GTZ) with a 6700k in a Z270 Gaming 9.

I mainly use this PC for gaming but I also do some 3D CAD (which uses quite a lot of RAM). I have seen the usage easily get upto 14-15GB so I am looking to add some more RAM to get 32GB.

I am finding it difficult to get a second set of memory that match my current set without getting them from the USA, I hope it is ok to mention but Newegg have some although they are a different colour.

An extra complication would be that I am thinking that I will upgrade to the Ryzen 3700X based on the leaks which I hope are correct, or I would consider the 9900K if the price came down a bit.
I understand that 3200 and CL 15 aren't really pushing the overclocks this is just the XMP and I run what I think is a save OC on the CPU 4.5 at 1.3v on my 6700k

what are your thoughts on getting selling my current set and getting a new 2x16GB set vs getting another two sticks from the USA for a 4x8GB setup. it is about £55 cheaper to get the second two sticks from the USA?

Thanks for your help

I just got a set of 2x16GB kit of TeamGroup DDR4-3000 off OcUK to replace my very ancient 2x8GB Corsair LPX 3200. The old LPX struggled to do 3200, the Teamgroup does 3600 no bother.

Thanks for your reply, that kit isnt B-Die and therefore it wont have the best compatiblity with Ryzen. There is 8Pack stuff that would be ideal but it is only availble in 2x8 or 4x16 where is the 2x16 kit?

the best option on your pocket would be 2 more 8gb sticks, and tbf there is no real reason to not just add two more sticks.
if you do deside to sell your and buy new do it now as ram prices are falling, and use ram is plummeting.

thats a good question call overclocker or post in the customer support area.
i can see why they wouldn't sell a 2x16gb kit as ITX systems are on the up and only support 2 sticks, there losing a good section of the market
