Hi guys I am upgrading both mine and my sister in laws systems to a ryzen set up.

She has settled on the r5 1400 4c/8t because she wants to do some gaming at 1080p and also live streaming it with obs. Having researched this subject of streaming extensively I've concluded the 1400 will be enough rather than a hex core. We can drop one later if need be. She has 8gb of ddr4 2666mhz. Her Games are on SSDs obviously and she has a gtx 1050ti which perfectly handles the games she plays at high settings 60fps 1080p. ( subnautica/ ark/ team fortress 2. )
She also does some movie making with source filmmaker.

I on the other hand will only be gaming and I want to play the latest aaa games from 2015 to now and beyond at 1080p 60fps. I already have a ryzen 3 1300x and if I need to I'll drop a 3000 chip in when they are out and after the reviews flood in. I also have 8gb 2666 ram but I'm going to upgrade to 16gb soon. I won't be streaming and I won't be video editing etc. I plan to overclock. She won't be. I will be getting a gtx 1660 most likely if people think this is going to be the ideal 60fps 1080p card for high settings?

So now you know each background here's my question. I've aqquired two b350 boards for relatively the same price but I've been out of the game so long since....Well she has an athlon x4 640 and me an old gen apu. I don't know which would be suited best to which person. It might not matter but it might that's why I'm asking here. The boards are.

Msi B350m Pro-VDH and
Asus Prime B350m-E.

They both seem good and similar to me so if anyone has an idea which would be suited to who I'd appreciate it.

I think the MSI board would probably have the better VRMs, so I would use that if you intend to overclock the 1300x. Personally I wouldn't have gone with a B350 board as the VRM designs were ill-equipped, especially if you decide on going with Zen 2 at a later date. It would work but I would be concerned at the power delivery for either board.

Yeah B450 is the far better choice and there is only about £20 price difference. I personally am thinking of the msi tomahawk, decent board for the price.

The MSI B450 Tomahawk is a great board, the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon is the best!

Sent the asus prime back and kept the msi for my sister in law as you said it's the better of the two. And managed to obtain a brand new msi b450m gaming plus for myself at just 50 pounds. Thanks for the advice.
