Not sure how i do it. But at work i've found that i lean on my left elbow (pointy elbows?) and rip my shirts.

This is getting real annoying as you can imagine. I tried buying cheap shirts from Asda but they fit so badly that it's not worth it.

I've tried them from TM Lewin/Charles Thywitt/M&S/H&M and all do the same suggesting it's how i lean on the corner (chavvy) desk

What's the ettiquette of putting patches on my work shirts. Something to be avoided like the plague and just suck it up and buy new shirts every now and then or be heroic and start a trend!

What are your elbows made of? 1200 grit wet and dry?

Elbow patches on a shirt? Just no. Try buying a heavier guage cotton like Oxford fabric. They're used for mechanic shirts in the US so will withstand any abuse from your rough elbows against a desk.

You should never do this, unless you consider socks and sandals acceptable, in which case congratulations - you have an amazing career ahead of you as a geography teacher.

Will look into that. Really don't want to go short sleeved. Just feels wrong (more so than elbow patches)

I find that being a perfectly formed human with perfect posture and a perfect job helps alleviate this issue. Get your life together OP.

I would add that if you're leaning on your elbow to the point where it's wearing through clothing this is probably a sign of slouching / poor posture and is likely to cause you back/joint problems down the line. Worth getting your desk setup checked out!
