Facebook has said it will block "praise, support and representation of white nationalism and separatism" on Facebook and Instagram from next week.

The social media giant also pledged to improve its ability to identify and block material from terrorist groups.

Facebook users searching for offending terms will be directed to a charity which combats far-right extremism.

The social network has come under pressure after a man livestreamed an attack on two mosques in New Zealand.

I don't care. But one thing I will ask is: will this include Jewish nationalism and separatism?

No, of course it won't.

There are groups who oppose forced diversity, and instead choose to be proud of their own race's heritage.
I'm concerned those groups are going to get blocked by this.
Leaving only continuing forced diversity, 'positive' discrimination, etc. Which I really don't like.
I'm getting sick of gay, trans, diverse race, characters being injected in movies/tv where it doesn't make sense. E.g. gay male officers kissing on duty in Star Trek.

When they say white nationalists what they really mean is people who love their country. Love of country is no longer allowed because you know having a country with its own laws (or lack of) is an attack on the "rules based international order" AKA legalist global dictatorship. :p

The Legalists believed that political institutions should be modeled in response to the realities of human behaviour and that human beings are inherently selfish and short-sighted. Thus social harmony cannot be assured through the recognition by the people of the virtue of their ruler, but only through strong state control and absolute obedience to authority. The Legalists advocated government by a system of laws that rigidly prescribed punishments and rewards for specific behaviours.

They shouldn't ban it, just give people lots of options to block all sorts of topics that fit certain criteria.

Isn't it a tad racist to only target White Nationalist groups?

It's not racist to be against white people hurr durr!

I don't care if people call me a crazy conspiracy theorist, it's pretty damn clear these days that the powers that be are trying their hardest to bring down white people any way they can. Only white people are expected to be ashamed of their skin colour and disgusted by their history.

It's like Feminism tells women they're empowered, but actually now there's double the supply of labour so everyone's working for half the salary, less childcare costs.
Africa is clearly not habitable, and there's a ton of workers there, gotta pave the road for inviting them all to migrate.

Mainstream social media is getting woker and woker every day. I wish the alternatives were actually viable, but even the biggest such as Minds, Gab and Bitchute only go so far at the moment.

Why can't two characters be gay in Star Trek? That's a terrible example.
I didn't say they couldn't be gay. My point was it didn't make sense in the context of the show, it's a military ship and they were ON DUTY. It was blatantly wedged in so the show could virtue signal about how 'progressive' they are.

A couple of other points:
- It's disgusting and I personally don't want to see it. I stopped watching the show. So their virtue signal cost them viewers. Think what you want about that, that's my view. I have previously watched Star Trek my whole life. I looked up to how they all did useful things instead of ripping each other off for money like we do. Totally ruined it for me.
- I believe in the future there won't be homosexuality because it isn't natural and the current fad will have passed. I don't think it's even a remote possibility that what people think is 'progressive' now is still seen as progressive in a few hundred years.

You remember Captain Kirk from the original series right? Lol.
Wasn't a military ship. Also he did get a bad reputation for his behaviour, so there's a double standard.

Not to actually defend that guy, but the Enterprise was sort of a military ship, and at least in many modern militaries, its against the rules to have a relationship with anyone, male or female.

That's not really true though, for most it's only between an officer and a subordinate. Also it's 400 years in the future, things might have changed :p

Isn't one of them a doctor? So civilian personnel.

Also it's the USS Discovery... conducting schientific research, not a war ship.

Well your opinion is disgusting to me, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to have it.

Wasn't it a running storyline in one of them that a whole race were always ripping people off and trying to find a way to make a quick $$$?

Except that it is natural, it happens in nature and has done for millenia.

Can't say I'm too bothered about this but the general trend at the moment I'm not a fan of at all - up until today YouTube's search filtering (which was not great anyhow) was intentionally broken due to the NZ stuff and the backlash against them and FB and there are a lot of people that don't seem to understand or don't care to understand that technology is not magic and we are a long way from being able to reliably detect certain types of content and it just isn't feasible for manual verification of every and any information or media uploaded or submitted to a platform like FB or YT in real time and there is nothing wrong with having a report system and general content flagging (including automated) system aslong as it is acted on in a timely fashion.

I think something a lot of these writers, etc. seem to be missing is that people often watch these kind of shows to escape from day to day realities including people who suffer oppression or prejudice, etc. over these issues and often don't want contemporary issues shoved in their face, it is also possible to work a lot of this stuff in subtly.

The funny thing is there seems to be a movement at the moment trying to distort how people perceive things to force a new normal and that isn't right at all.
