So I need a new case that will accommodate the 2.5 slot Asus Strix 1080 Ti. It won't fit very well (if at all) in my existing Prodigy case due to the 2 slot maximum size for any GPU.
I'm looking at either the Prodigy M, or the In-Win 301. The Prodigy M orientates the GPU horizontally, fans up, at the top of the case, like so:
Compare this to the In-Win 301 that orientates it at the bottom of the case, fans down:
My point of decision is based around which would be best for cooling, but there's also the concern of GPU sag, which to me suggests the Prodigy M might be better but I really have no real basis for thinking that.
I figure the In-Win would allow the card to pull air in from the bottom, but any air coming from the card might get trapped and re-enter the fans. The Prodigy M allows air from the top to hit the card, but any air from the rest of the case is probably going to rise into it. I don't really know if either of these situations even occurs, or if they're anything to be concerned about, so I'd love some input from anyone who knows better than I do. Which is probably most!
edit: I'm using air cooling for the CPU so it'll be a chunk of metal and a fan, but otherwise my PSU is small form factor and all my drives are SSD.
