Never heard of Man-Love Thursday? Very popular amongst the followers of the prophet in SW Asia.
Grim!
Never heard of Man-Love Thursday? Very popular amongst the followers of the prophet in SW Asia.
And what was the first sentence?
Are you being daft again?
Not sure if it's deflecting or defending the practise of stoning to death from some posters.
Right, I'm having to explain your own post again...
Your first sentence "people only moan when it's Muslims doing the discriminating" does not mention gay rights. At all. It is, as I pointed out, inaccurate. Wrong. Crap.
The second sentence is just that, a second sentence. A separate point. If the first sentence was about gay rights the two would be separated with a comma.
You're over-thinking this just a bit, and as a result you're reading the wrong meaning into my post. This is something I've seen you do before (strangely in another thread about Muslims - you, and you alone, thought a poster implied that he cares more about other Muslims than non-Muslims when he said nothing of the sort. It was very odd).
Anyway, in the context of this thread the meaning of my post as a whole is fairly straightforward. I'm sure most people got it.
And again your post in that respect is wrong. You'll find those condemning this have also defended gay rights elsewhere on here. But don't let that get in the way of your defence of a backwards religion.
And I stand by that previous post.
Yes, I expect you do. You're still wrong though.
Ok, sure. As you've shown though, and I believe admitted, your grasp of English at times is pretty poor so I don't expect you to pick up on the subtleties of what people say.
People only seem to moan when it's Muslims doing the discriminating. It's like they don't really care much about gay rights really, they just want a stick to beat Muslims with.
Judging by the way you misunderstand people's posts (and not just mine as I explained), unless you're doing it deliberately then I'd suggest that your grasp of English isn't anything to write home about either.
Well it is a bit more than the usual discrimination here, this is about introducing a law with the penalty of stoning to death, bit more extreme and perhaps more thread worthy than general homophobia etc... Also I think you're conflating criticism of Islam with "bashing muslims".
So...because you don't understand something other people must be wrong too? Again, you've said before (which you haven't denied here) that English perhaps isn't your first language. Although you were interestingly ambiguous then.
When folk use causes they aren't generally concerned about as weapons against groups of people they don't like, I find it quite disingenuous.
Which folk and have they previously been supportive of the stoning of gay people?
Also what is being used as a weapon against people here? I think you're again conflating criticism of a law and a conservative interpretation of a religion with an attack on people following that religion in general. Most of the victims of conservative Islamic beliefs are muslims themselves after all.
I understood it perfectly. Bear in mind, it was you and you alone who had the misunderstanding. Other people tried explaining it to you but you just wouldn't have it.
I am Welsh and a Welsh speaker but English is my first language (it has been since secondary school).
Which folk? Well, those who in general don't give a monkeys about gay rights yet as soon as a Muslim country discriminates against gays, they're suddenly up in arms.
I'm sure gay folk appreciate our concern re the Sultan and all, but what about the discrimination they face in the rest of the world?
Interesting map here: https://ilga.org/ilga-launches-state-sponsored-homophobia-2019
When you compare that map with the one on this wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_world
The extent of the, erm, overlap between Islam and the most severe restrictions and penalties on homosexuality is actually pretty definitive
