Unsure whether to post this here or in the hdd drive section, but here goes:

Im looking to buy a DS918+ NAS and was wondering which 4gb RAM people are using that works 100% with this NAS.

Last weekend I installed 2 8GB Kingston HX318LS11IB/8 into a Synology DS718+. The threads in the memory forum. Works a treat.

Synology only recommended a total of 6GB, but there is plenty of info online of people installing more.

I have ordered this RAM now:

Crucial CT51264BF160B 4 GB (DDR3L, 1600 MT/s, PC3L-12800, SODIMM, 204-Pin)

I read too many stories about random reboots, etc, for 16gb installation.. I am glad its working for you though, 16gb would be awsome, but its not happening for me now. :)

Just for completeness in case somebody is searching in the future; the above RAM works just fine with the Synology. :)

Are you guys just putting that 4gb stick of Crucial in with the 4gb of Synology branded ram thats already in there? for £20 im tempted to pick one up just for future proofing

It also slightly improves the performance of the NAS as the RAM runs in dual channel mode.
