What the actual ****? Is there the whole transcript of what the judge said. She says “if you were a man you’d get...” I’m expecting her to say but you’re a woman and for <x> reasons you won’t get what men get. I want to know why this judge has let her off because she’s not a man.
 
This is a shameful behaviour from the courts. They should at least have fined the damages out of her own pocket. Even if insurance companies exist, this still feels like a overtly light punishment.
 
Sounds pretty sexist - perhaps her rationale was that it was more of a punishment as a woman due to her ‘body clock’? Still, I’m not sure that’s a good reason either.

I knew the judge was going to be female before I even clicked the link.

Perhaps all male judges should stop sending men to jail because they are men?
