I have just upgraded my case gpu an monitor

I have gone to a 2060 from a an amd 280x.

the system boots and comes up with a cue error around 3min after being on and the monitor goes black. all fans are still running.

any one have any idea what this could be ? I havent had chance to update or install any drivers of the new items.

I'm Also still on windows 7... could that be the issue ?

EDIT

switched my SATA cables it lasted longer I was able to update drivers but still getting crashing

Windows 7 shouldnt be a factor in terms of outright crashing your system.

Just for clarity, you can boot into windows and have installed current drivers and then after a few minutes you get an error and then the screen goes black and the system is unresponsive requiring a manual restart?

What do you mean by switching SATA cables? Replacing with a new one, or just swapping them around internally? How many drives are connected, etc?

i swapped them round e.g at first ssd was connected second I have since changed that

I have fully wiped amd drivers and installed the correct nvida ones for the 2060.

now it seems to be when system is under load its freezing and crashing e.g in pubg I can play less than 5min and its crashing. Really starting to worry I have majorly ****d it up.

when it crashs now the system is completely un responsive an there is no error message. the error message I was getting has now stopped since putting the hard drives in the correct order and updating drivers

Can you go into event viewer and post the crash reports from ther please.

Also what psu do you have as this could be a factor or cannot supply enough power to the gpu

I'm just getting freezing issues now though it isnt powering down

Have you checked all the cables/plugs are in right along with gpu seated fully and extra power cpu cables and pci e for gpu? not unkwown

Looks like that CUE bug is something to do with MacAfee

yea done all those checks mate

the cue is no longer an issue since re connecting the hard drive an ssd.

I had it with GPU couple of times one was couldn't get it to work when first installed it it needed reseating just that bit more! other when but another board in had a weird screen it was where port was not quite right dvi plug wasnt quite fully in felt it was but jiggled it and went in further.
So does happen

Have you checked volts also?

Know someone that has been having issues pc would suddenly fail when in BF4 when on Teamspeak just randomly they tried alsorts think that is/was psu

I'm not sure how to. I have been up all night tinkering and nothings changed. must make frustrating reading for you lot but my knowledge is limited I dont know/ struggled to check some of the above

I have checked seating of gpu
re installed nvida drivers and wiped amd
switched stata cables
checked cables to psu

so my crash upon boot is no longer an issue an seems to be more when it's under a load. also my signal to my monitor seems to in consistently go on and off when I touch / meds with the back of my wires usbs for example.

Could be a faulty gpu, do you have another pc or a friend who you can test the 2060 in?

If you put back in the 280x do you still have the same problems?
