Console gamer who wants to make the switch...

This is the full ATX with added sale memory - can be swapped out for 3333MHz if you have the money - but realise we've pushed you past your limit - and you can't even see your wife's imaginary limit anymore:

My basket at overclockers uk:
Total: £1,084.09 (includes shipping: £13.20)

If you wanted a smaller form factor you could always do a compromise and use @tamzzy'z MATX build.

I would act tomorrow - at the latest - as i've mentioned that PSU to at least 2 other members today (and others in previous days along with other members) - and two are keen to buy and that's without considering the browsers who just need a replacement 'bargain' PSU. There are only 6 units left - and i doubt they'll be getting anymore as i'm pretty sure they're EOL.

You should be on commission from Antec at this rate :) haha.

TBH, there's no other choice in OCuKs range if looking for a the cheapest quality 650W/750W/850W (they have some other premium units on sale). They've actually made it easy to spec a decent PSU and persuade new builders to buy a quality unit as it is such a big saving - so they feel less p*ssed about spending so much of their budget on a boring/essential component.

Usually, you have to coax them in to making the sensible choice - that or wait for @EsaT or @pastymuncher to chip in with some no-nonsense, solid advice that often compels the buyer to change their mind (far quicker - and very entertaining at times). But, while this fire sale lasts - it's far easier - less entertaining - but easier :)

Yeah I see that there aren't many left available so I guess that people have been listening. As you say its at the price point where it's palatable and does feel like a bit of a bargain. Even if it is boring :)

I'm delighted to inform everyone that everything has now been purchased, so no more mentions of Mini ITX's please. :D
Great - enjoy!

Be sure to less us know if you run into any build issues - and how you're adapting to your new life as a eunuch, when your wife works out the glowing box under your desk (with monitor) cost way more than £500.

@Plec @tamzzy

The bios start board looks bad... Location of the battery takes up VRM and heatsink space, most likely you could only fit 4 phases in that space , granted top could take 5-6 ... Just doesn't look right but board had a high end polish ....

Japanese CM are the worst for leaking , everything you see on Videocardz - least Gigabytes one is .

@orbitalwalsh, agreed, it's a weird placement given that the VRMs are one of the main concerns and certainly what reviewers will make a beeline for when assessing board attributes. As, you allude to it seems to contradict the quality of the rest of the board. Perhaps, we're missing something?..

Thanks for the heads up BTW - your timing was priceless in some instances (highlight of the thread) :D - your enthusiasm is infectious. There's no way a third will curb your thirst for information... :)

Yep, expect some by the end of October, such will be my build speed! Although seriously, how long should it take do you reckon?
Your first build?

Assembling - few hours, as you'll be paranoid handling every component.

If it doesn't boot, and it's not the fault of any hardware, anything from 30 minutes to day depending on your mistake and your ability to identify it with our help,

Windows install - minutes but then becomes hours with updates.

So a day tops - or ~6 hrs if all goes smoothly.

build is about a mornings worth :)
He's on his tod Orbi - if all goes smoothly he'll be done in a morning. If he has a hiccup - in can become hours - even if he's watched multiple videos...

I used to occasionally talk, new builders, step by step through their build (weekends) - you literally have to second guess everything they do and assume they're not doing 'exactly' what you're describing by default. IMGUR - becomes an invaluable troubleshooter during the process. @MrBraindown - set up an account in preparation...

E.g. i spent hours one night getting someones RAID operational again (he wasn't even sure whether he had RAID 0 or 1 :/) - basically rewording the same set of instructions in different way over the course of many hours. We got it working - but it could have been sorted in 10 minutes... Example clicky (Jesus that was 10 years ago.)
