OcUK GTX1650 review thread

At 1080p though this 1650 has the same performance per dollar as the AMD cards.

That is one of the cheapest GTX1650 cards too. In the UK the cheapest RX570 cards start at around £124 and the cheapest GTX1650 cards start at £15 more. Many of the reviews test the GTX1650 cards which are not bus powered, whilst the cheapest ones are and lose a bit of performance according to TPU and Hardware Unboxed.

Rubbish price, but still the most powerful card you can get without needing aditional power. Needs to be cheaper.

As i said in the other thread...

mmm... i think if you couldn't afford to spend around £40 on a half decent power supply to start with then you can't afford a £150 GPU.
The whole point of a PCIe only powered GPU is that they are also very cheap, so they are affordable for the very budget minded, this isn't, its very expensive.

A branded GPU on the used market is what, £30?

In which case the 1650 looks to besame performance per dollar as the 570 and 580 but uses far less power and has newer features helping future proofing.

In the UK cheapest to cheapest the RX570 is £15 cheaper. TPU tested the cheapest GTX1650 they could find in the US.

So ive not read a lot into the GTX 16 series but i see they're a Touring GPU but basically crippled with no ray tracing cores?

Is it that they're failed actual RTX Gpus that were faulty in some way so they gimped them even more by laser cut or were they actually a completely new made die specifically for 16 series?

New chips which have much smaller dies. However, they are still big relatively to Pascal. The TU117 in the GTX1650 is the same size as the GP106 in the GTX1660 and the TU116 in the GTX1660TI is around 280MM2 in size, which is only 10% to 15% smaller than the GP104 in the GTX1080. One major addition I believe is FP16 support, which Vega also added.

This is the current GPU buying tier

RX 570
GTX 1660
GTX 1660ti
RTX 2060
RTX 2070
Radeon 7
RTX 2080
RTX 2080TI

At the entry level AMD has one card worth buying, at the high end they have one card.

Nvidia has most of the in between and Ultra high end on lockdown.

The 1650 may be a let down compared to the RX 570 but they have a huge range of other products

Maybe fewer people are upgrading right now but if they are going to upgrade chances are it’s to buy Nvidia
any one that buys this card would be better with RX 570 lol benchmarks put the RX 570 20 to 25 % in front + its £40 cheeper lol

Thanks for supporting my point .See the 1650 has the same or better price-performance as the 590, 580 or Vega 56 at this target resolution. The 570 is slightly better o agree but that is s bit of an outlier even within AMDs lineup.

Do as much as the 1650 is s bit bleh on the price-performance front it is really not worse than most of AMDs offerings to it is s bit hypercritical if people complain at Nvidia and not AMD

It slower, significantly so and yet more expensive.... do you accept that?

It’s AMD’s 50th Birthday next week!

Let’s just say epic 570, 580 and 590 deals incoming with lots of free goodies.

Maybe some tasty Vega and Ryan’s treats too.

lol reviews set the RX 570 20% faster for £20 cheeper what was the point of a 1650

The only use case I could think of is Low Power builds OR builds with no spare 6 pin power cables.
Since the card only draws PCI-E power, it can be used for Ultra small, quiet, cool cases
