What can i do with my old 1070?

I'm in a similar boat here with a 980ti I have. I could stick it on fleabay but I just don't trust it anymore after all the horror stories I've read on here!

When selling you can see who is watching and bidding can choose to kick them off your items esp if unhappy with there feedback even though sellers can't leave Neg they can word it for others to read if poor.

Problem is that the eventually buyer only bids in the last few seconds.

Pop it in a 2nd PC, a HTPC makes for a great project, and one that gets much more use out of than you might think at 1st
I have one already with a 750ti and i never use it :D

flogging it on fleabay as we speak started it off at £122 got 10 watchers on it i hope it doesn't sell that low it shouldn't since the avg is about 180-220 we will see.

One of a few things to get better returns is decent pictures of everything and information plus if it looks like been looked after placed on anti static bag etc for photos always a benefit.

Some on there struggle to see what the item is let alone the finer details of it!
Was looking at a case earlier looked like a pile of scrap dumped in corner seller was blathering on about it didn't make much sense plus no picture of inside it to see layout or decent on of outside so can see how it would look in use.

yeah winds me up too i always keep boxes much to the mrs dismay. So whoever gets it will know its been well looked after. Hurts to part with it though since it cost £400 in the first place and more than 50% loss is gonna suck but guess there is no use for it in the long term.

I tried buying a 1070 last week off Facebook marketplace. Got scammed and learned a lesson in trusting people. Since ordered a 580 off ebay and hoping it turns up next week. Will probably get a 1070 eventually as prices falling fast.
If u do sell, I'd do so sooner rather than later.

I can understand the caution with regards to fleabay and the tree place, it can be a minefield. I learnt the hard way selling a mobo and forgetting to take pictures of the pins, ended up giving a partial refund for a fault that certainly wasn't there when I sent it. Fortunately with my old 980 Ti I sold it to a friend for £250 last year, not bad for two years use after buying for £540.

This is why i hate selling stuff as there are people out there that will scam you just a sorry thing to do. And with ebay/paypal siding with the buyer more often than not you don't have anything to stand on. I've taken as many pictures of the item as possible and saved the numbers etc

Sorry to hear that, how did you get scammed?

Paid via bank transfer, half up front. Had a copy of his bank statement, looked legit and confirmed address etc. Should have checked sort code tied up with bank tho... £90 down.

I had something similar many years ago and I got my money back. I had to contact the police and the bank but I got all my cash back.

I've sold my old 1070 and 1080ti on fleabay with no issues. Got pretty good prices too. Just pack them well, lots of photos of packing including any serial numbers on PCB and send with a good parcel company and pay the insurance. I had someone try a number when I sold a 970 a while back. Tried to say the card they already had and was broken was the card I sent. Photos of PCB and serial numbers soon cleared that up. Cover your arse and you should be fine.
